I have 2 amps under the backseat so if I was carrying something big around it wouldn't sit level and roll around. So I decided it I would fix it so it was level and my amps could still get air to them. I chose expanded metal so since it wouldn't muffle my music as much as wood would. I got the idea as a offspring from a bunch of the ones I have seen up here.
Supplies:
2- 2x6's 34" long each
1- 34x34" piece of expandable metal

I am new to the forum, so if this is the wrong place to post this, please let me know and I will move my post.

My 23 y/o son has a 98 Wrangler Jeep. We bought it used almost 2 years ago. Since then, he has had trouble with the brake and fuel lines. A shop told us that the entire undercarriage is rusted and all lines are corroded to a point of needing replacement. The mechanic said the jeep must have been under water for a while considering all of the rust. He suggested we scrap the jeep.

BUT. The jeep starts every time and the engine is strong. I got a service manual and was going to replace the brake and fuel lines myself.

Does anyone have any advice on whether I should scrap the jeep or rebuild it?

Also, any tips on replacing the brake lines would be very helpful.
Thanks

I Just finished my new head and exhaust and intake on my 99 wrangler sport. I had to do all this due to wifey saying i'll put cold water in it its just a lil hot. Ya know just helping me out, saving me the trip and what not.

I however overtightened the last bolt i put in and cracked the Thermostat housing in half. OOps. Now what really sucks is that i have to wait 4 days for the part to come in from prescott arizona. I live in hawaii, and there are none here. Not the parts stores on any island, nor the junkyards, not even the stealership could get them till they got an oreder from the mainland. Damn, now i bought it online cause i want it bad enough. Now that a 16.99 part cost me like 64.99 to get it overnighted to hawaii. (oxymoronic statment seeing as how it still takes 3 to four days to hawaii).

So you can imagine that i have been hovering over my jeep really wanting to fire it up and check out the job i did. But the lack of parts has me sitting at home. I have double check things triple checked them and i am almost sure i have it back to factory.

Then... i find this, a connection that i didnt unplug. I have looked all over anywhere that that plug can reach and havent found the mate to it.

You can see the plug it has four wires going to it laying on the brakebooster. If you know what this plugs into or what its for, would you mind enlightnening me? If so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, so i recently aquired some beadlocks from a buddy of mine's new business (Home) and wanted to show them off... i dont have alot of build pictures (kickin myself right now) but thought i would post them up anyways.

so i came up with the design and layed it out in autocad 2005, here are the two finalist : 1) RockSolid (by me) and 2) 252 (my number/maybe future business if i ever open one "252designs")

here they are after they got cut and layed out on top of one of my wheels:

here they all are painted, i had him weld up the inner rings on my wheels for me as i only have an arch welder and that isnt reliable enough to get a perfect seal (atleast with my skills)

here is the first one mocked up with washers to see how it looks (the washers arent needed because the hole in the rings are CNC laser cut and are small enough to carry the load out on the bolt)

without the washers mocked up:

and the final result:

I just picked up a swing out spare tire carrier from the salvage yard and figured that as long as I'm cuttin' and pastin' back there, I might as well convert my swing out tail gate to fold down. Haven't seen anything on WF about the conversion, so I thought I'd ask. Is it worth the effort?
