I am trying to help my future brother in law's father find a transmission for his 1966 CJ-5 with the dauntless v6. He has had this jeep on the farm since new and it finally shelled its original 3-speed manual transmission. I think the original transmission would be a Warner T-14A, but I could be wrong. Do any of you guys know what other transmissions would work or where I could find one? I live in Kansas City and I am willing to travel. He lives in South Western Kansas. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

there is a company in WI that specializes in used Jeep parts though mainly CJ7. Try Phil at Max-Bilt , Max-Bilt Jeeps , 715-210-0256 Or there is a huge parts supplier in TX called Collins Bros. Their ads are in the back of most offroad mags. Their website i just checked as Collins Bros Jeep Used Jeeps Parts and Accessories

I had a 71, last year for the 225 V6, and it had the t14 also but I know the T-18 4sp was also available from the factory.
If you can find one, the T18 is bullet proof and would be my first choice if you were replacing the tranny with anything else. |
