New Cj5

I pick up a 1976 Cj5, Bodys kinda rough but frame is in good condition, guy I bought it from said it had a 304 in it. Runs good very strong engine, Its also got a 3 speed trany in it, once i get through the mud and grime i will get some numbers off of it. Almost positive Cj5s didnt come with that set up but could anyone enlighten me? Also the rear floor pan and top of the wheel wells are shot where someone did a crap job with a roll bar and body lift. I think I can salvage some of it, but I need something to weld into place, any repalcement kits that you know of? Any info would be appreciated, I'm used to my Yj and this is a pleasent but different change.

They started putting the 304 in CJ5s in 1975-ish, and the 3 speed sounds right to me.

Stop by the book store and get the catalogs from 4WD, Quadratec and JCW. There are a LOT of parts available for it.

My 1980 CJ7 now has a fiberglass tub. And every single chrome accessory you can buy (kidding).
