i dont know much if none at all about jeeps.

there is an old jeep cj lying around and i would like some info on it.

i dont know nothing about the year nothing.



what kind of cj is it?

what kind of axles they come with?
it is like the ones in the pic below

CJ7 ('76 - '86) Windshield width 55", round fender Jeep, one piece windshield, factory roll bar, bottom mounted windshield wipers, factory mounted door hinges, has either no windshield retainer or screw-in design. Door opening looks like a "U" rather than an inverted "S", measures 81" from door hinge to rear of vehicle.

CJ5 ('76 - '83) Windshield width 55", round fender Jeep, one piece windshield, factory roll bar, bottom mounted windshield wipers, factory mounted door hinges, windshield retainer screws on, sloped windshield. Measures 71 1/2" from door hinge to rear of vehicle.

CJ5 ('55 - '75) & M38A1 ('51 - '71) Windshield width 59", round fender Jeep, one piece windshield, no factory door hinges, windshield retainer welded on vehicle, windshield at 90° angle to hood. CJ6 ('55 -'75) Same basic vehicle as an early model CJ5 except with an extended rear body rub.

The axles should be dana 30 fronts and either a dana 20 or dana 44 in the rear.

Sometimes looks can be deceiving!

If it looks similar to the ones pictured, it might even be an old Willys CJ2A or CJ3A. The old Willys had the flat fenders to start with, unlike the modified ones on the later model CJ's pictured.

Post up a picture of your find... I am sure the Jeep experts here will ID it immediately!

Good way to tell what you have is the vin number. should be on the dash visable from the outside of the jeep... If none is found or it is less than 17 digits you have an old vechile. if its 17 the tenth digit will have a number to represent the year post that along with pictures of the axles from the back and front and pictures of the engine thats in it. If its stock itll be an easy iden with that info. If not then we get into the fun stuff like measuring
