Default T18 ?

i recently junked the gm 2.5 and sr4 out of my willys because the motor smoked really bad and i was told the sr4 would not hold up to a v8 so i got a 1977 amc 304 v8 to put into my willys and i came across a t18 transmission on craigslist and i was wondering if this would work good with the 304? the t18 is out of a old bronco but is all i have to do is change bell housings?to make this work and i have a dana 300tcase to go behind the t18 oh and one more question will my amc 20 hold up to the 304, the 304 has a mild cam and is bored .030 over

i'd make sure the ford t18 splines are gonna work right www.novak-adapt has great info on all that.

second make sure you're getting the t18 w/ the granny first, some had a higher first gear. the 304 wasn't all that powerfull, great engine long lasting. but if you're gonna do all that might as well find a d44 or something.

i got the t18 last night i could not pass this thing up, the guy wanted 200 for it but i got him down to 150 and the first gear on this thing is like 6.72, i shecked the imput to the 304 will work but i guess i will need the adapter plate to get the dana 300 to bolt to the t18 not sure if this was a great grive train choice but i got all the stuff at graet prices but the adapter is like 550 dollars
