Should have a dana 300 in there. Good t-case.. might just need rebuilt. Try car-parts.com and see if they have any. OR contact a 4x4 shop in your area and get their thoughts on what it needs. Will the jeep drive as is in 2wd?

So what does it do or not do when you go to shift it into either 4hi or 4lo? Perhaps the hubs are bad, not the t-case?

mmm, thats not good...you need one for it to move in 4 wheel drive. Its durn near impossible to have 4wd without a transfer case under that thing.
But that brings up an entire slew of questions that need answers first.

you say you drive it around...in 2wd...but you have an axle with hubs up front...and no 4wd transfer case...

that can only mean one thing- theres a 305 engine in there hooked to a 2wd tranny, with a transfer case at all. You got a 2wd jeep.

you got it bad. You either need to find a tranny with transfercase already hooked to it, and swap that in, or figure out what tranny is in there now, and see if its adaptable to make it a 4wd tranny, so you can get a transfer case to hook to it. thats expensive...unless you find a deal.

you can go a lot of different routes from this point-- you can find a junked CJ with a good tranny/case and buy it for a swapout...you can look for just the tranny/case forsale somewhere...or adapt. All are expensive routes to take...unless you find...a deal.

sounds like the original owner did a little swapping and stuck you with a 2wd jeep....thats sad.
