Wrangler. Anchorage area. Has anyone found any places that sell used tires for decent prices ? Im lookin for some beater mud terrains for this summer. Nothing fancy just something to be able to get by with mudding this summer.
i have 16" rims and the largest I can go with right now is a 31"
Just joined the forums as well. I am in Eagle River with an '06 rubicon unlimited. 3 1/2 in lift and looking for tires for it. It's my first jeep, but I use to own a fab shop building rock crawling rigs in south Dakota so lots of jeep experience. My wife owns an 08 Sahara 4dr.

Didnt see this until this morning and with the tires I have on right now I probably could not have done much, but if you guys ended up going I would love to see pics. How much snow did they get out that way?
Ahh jims makes me cringe i sucked silt filled water into my tranny and have had one prob after another there glacier is beautiful though how did it go?
Does anyone head out to Sutton in the winter? I've been up and down most of the trails out towards wishbone area, 17 mile lake etc but in the summer. Just curious if anyone has ever tried any of it in the snow. I would like I try.
Hello All! Just joined the forum a few days ago and wanted say Hi! Current rig is a 2004 Wrangler Sport which is stock. Plans for this winter/spring is a 4" lift and some 34x10.50-15 Swamper LTBs plus a rear locker. I also need to install my Warn winch left over from my last mudder. I sold my 87 YJ back in May. It ran a Dana 44 front and a 60 in the rear. NP435 tranny mated to a Dana 300 T-case. It was powered by a Ford 5.0 (302). I had her since new and built it up over the years, but it was time to move on. Anyway, take care everyone.
Cheers!!!!
Welcome Muddy! Sounds like its going to be a nice rig. I almost got those same swampers, but the shipping to Alaska made them not work out. I just got some Kumho 285/75x16 mud terrains from Amazon with free shipping for $197 each. I have heard some good reviews on them so we will have to see how they do. They will be here this afternoon.
RMorel, I would love to go out there in the winter. I have snowmachined around that area a little.
i might be joining y'all up in AK next summer with my yj. my dad currently lives up there in the north pole and is a civilian cop at Ft. Greeley, starting working for fairbanks on the 1st of feb. unk:
Sorry I didnt get this until today. You still need help? Also, I have a 5/16 x 125' winch cable I am selling on craigslist right now $30. It is rated for up to a 10000lb winch. It came off of a warn 9.5ti.
Too much snow out in the Sutton trails. 2-3 ft of snow & some of the locals have blocked off most of the trails. Made it up further than we thought but I'm not coming back out any time soon. Maybe with some snow machines but the jeeps won't like it.

Me and my Jeep may be on "Alaska State Trooper" show on Nat Geo. I was pulling a lady out of the ditch in Palmer. Trooper showed up with the camera guy. The sad thing is it took me awhile to realize it was Nat Geo recording. Hahaha. It was a long day at work that day.
