Soft top cleaning and preserving

I just bought a 2008 x unlimited 4door. Aperson told me to treat the top with liquid pledge to protect & preserve it. Has anyone tried this or have a better idea.Let me know. Thanks

i vaguely recall hearing warnings about using Pledge to clean a soft top, but i don't remember exactly... maybe someone else here will know better.

personally, i use RaggTopp cleaner and protectant. after only one application (so far) my soft top looks a million times better!
and no, i'm not getting paid to say that. :P

I've used pledge on the soft top windows to clean them but never on the soft top itself.
