Hey all, new to Jeeps in general. Just bought my first one. Looking for a club or local Jeep owners/ fanatics that I can lean on for help. I'm sure that i will be coming up with lots of questions as I go along.
Jim, thanks for the invite!! Unfortunately the Jeep has an appointment to get some welding and a few other things done to it this weekend. I am hoping to have it all back together by Monday/ Tuesday at the latest. At least in driving condition anyway.
gfd66, I am from the gurnee area and a few of my friends are into the jeeps as well, I am sure that you have seen them driving down the road (they are the ones that arent really "pretty" but they can go just about anywhere). One of them is a pretty badass fabricator and really knows his stuff, I'm sure he would be able to help you out with questions and possibly do modifications for you as well.
That would be fantastic Monkeybone! I hopefully will be getting the last bit of my floor fixed tomorrow, but since I still have the old "sport" cage sitting next to my garage I was thinking about using the tubing from it and making my "family" cage a bit better. Where in Gurnee are you? PM me.
I'm in Chicago but grew up in Gurnee, my parents still live there and I'm visiting regularly, we should all try to meet up sometime, might be fitting to meet at BassPro.
This is my second Jeep and I'm completely obsessed and can't stop learning as much about them as I can. I'm open to any questions and helping when I can.

I'm a senior in high school, got my jeep last summer fell in love and lifted it a few weeks ago. I'm still trying to find other jeep people in Gurnee because I'm still new to working on it and would love to learn as much as possible
If you need parts or Fab work done, anything from mild to wild there's a shop in Kenosha called cncoffroad. I used to wheel with the owner, Bob. Great guy and does amazing work. DJ
I have this weekend and the next weekend off, anything after that is up in the air at the moment. Any suggestions where to meet? I'm new to the area.
