Yep, mine is still running like a top, no problems. It's a little higher than when I got it now ;-) I think I got a keeper, now that it's broken in.

Have there been any suspension modifications to the one you are looking at? Does it have a poor choice of muddier tires? If not I would not think there should be a wobble on a stock suspension with stockfish tires.

If it's stock I'd look at balancing the tires, the steering stabilizer, and possibly drive shaft.

Good luck on the looking!

Its a stock suspension/wheel setup. needs new rubber by the time winter hits. one of the rear tires is non-matching, may have hit something and got a flat/threw the balance off. Everything else is amazing with it besides the fairly large vibration once I hit like 65. my guess is the tires need balancing. may end up just charging a set of KM2's and wheels to my card if that's the case. Going up there again tomorrow to pick it up. Hope it isn't too problematic.
the way I figure, after taxes/etc. its running me 7k. If i have to invest another 1k to get it balanced out, i still made out with a pretty good deal.

kbb valued it between 9.5 and 11

Sounds like a nice deal.

If the vibration isn't coming from the engine or trans, it can probably be readily taken out with new tires/suspension mods. Wit a non-matching tire that alone may do it.

Sometimes having tires that need replacing soon is not bad, as you can get what you want and take your time doing it. I put the KM2's on mine myself this winter (31.5x10), as mine came with about 3/32nds on really cheap wally world tires. The KM2's are a great tire, I would recommend siping the inner lugs (only) if you go that route (for ice in Illinois winter driving). These tires made a huge difference on my jeep and the 4.0 could handle them (on stock wheels, manual trans) no problem. They fit under the stock suspension just fine in that size, no rubbing.

Hope it all works out. Let me know if you pick it up.

Update - I had an issue, jeep wouldn't start at all. Tuned the key, no crank. Jumpstart - nada.

Did a very precise diagnosis with the special BFH tool and determined my starter was caput. 150 bux and 15 mins later, issue solved.

Suppose it is to be expected at 110 K.

got mine in OH....

07 jeep jk rubicon -- $19,400

had everything except for power windows, locks, and navi. which i dont need and are over rated...

came with just a soft top, but had stock half doors, which are money!!! bc stock half doors are gonna cost you some good money...

it had 19,100 miles when i bought it in feb 11!

but the most important thing to getting a good deal is to get one in the off season, in a state to where they dont get used yr round "like up north", and to constatly bargain w/ the person or dealer that your buying it from... "but keep in mind if your gonna try and play hardball you better know a thing or two about jeeps"

There is a place in Elmhurst IL, close to O'hare that sells only Jeep wranglers. I've never been to the Rockford one.

When I was looking A-1 was a bit pricey, maybe that has changed.

For example, they have a black '03 sport, that looks very similar to the one I got last year (mileage, features). A1 is asking 11,366. I got mine in Rockford for 8,250

the jeep store in rockford is the place to go, they always have good deals.
they do all the little touch ups no dealer bothers to do, sometimes they take a little too long to do it but you get a good bang for your buck

Just bought my jeep from there. 03 4.0 with new soft top, 31*10.5, 112k, replaced seals, replaced brakes, 50/50 6mo warranty 11k.

I know its over priced-ish...but

I noticed the jeep started leaking tranny fluid on my driveway, brought it in and they replaced the input shaft seal in one day, free.

replaced fog light switch free.

put it up on a lift before i bought it to inspect. found minor things like broken bolt in bell housing, tailpipe bracket broken, they took care of both. They do take care of their customers because they know the next used jeep you may get will be from there. great place

Don't sweat the detail, enjoy your Jeep! For gods sake, get the top, the doors and the windows out in the great weather this week if you haven't.

Also, like a great wine, you have chosen the best year, the best color (black) and the best engine (4L) ('03 Black v6 FTW!)
