Fender Flare Laws

long story short, there are NONE decreed by the People's Republic of Illinois.

I see this topic brought up kind of frequently, and I addressed it in another post in a different thread. But here's the long and short of it:

there is nothing, NOTHING, NOTHING in the Illinois state code regarding tire coverage for passenger vehicles. I have read the statutes 6 ways from Sunday. Tire coverage is not codified. There are requirements for commercial vehicles, but not not passenger. Here is a list of required equipment for a passenger vehicle, straight from the SoS:
