Hello, my name is Gene and I live in Melrose Park. I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be any real Jeep clubs in the Chicago area so I was thinking about starting one. I don't know much about starting a club so Im looking for people that would be interested in starting a club with me and helping out. The Hope is to get to meet some more jeep people maybe a BBQ or Off Road trip and some mod parties. I understand the process might start out slow. I was also thinking of starting a facebook group so communication would be better and we could get to know each other somewhat. I was thinking of keeping the club limited to Jeep Wranglers for now but any suggestions are welcome. If anyone one is interested please post hear, pm me or email me at ILJeepClub@gmail.com (working title on club name ). Thanks again hope to hear from you. :punk::punk::punk::punk::punk:

good idea to start the club. There wasn't any in the thumb area of Michigan, just started one back in April and we are up to 17 members and have already done 1 parade, 1 blessing and 1 really nice 2 day trail ride with camping.

its a lot funner in a convoy... whenever you get together make sure everyone brings a hand held radio or two.

Judging by the OP date and number of posts, this idea may not have gotten anywhere. I'm kind of looking for new Jeepers to meet as well, possible for a regular monthly dinner meet to discuss ideas and shared rides, but not necessarily a formal club. I'm near the Fox River along I88 near Aurora, Batavia, St. Charles, etc. but wouldn't mind traveling East between I88 and North Ave, like around Elmhurst, Lombard or Downers Grove. Anyone know of any groups out this way?

The Fox River Jeep Club is a well organized, yet no pressure club. A place where all Jeepers are welcome no matter their skill/mod level. We are a family friendly club based out of Northeastern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. We have monthly meetings, monthly trail rides, cruise-ins, meet and greets, and are active in our member's communities. We are very active!!! If this sounds like the club for you, check out our website page at foxriverjeepclub.com. We are also on Facebook. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

I'm in dupage not too far from o'hare
I work prettymuch next to ORD

Idk if I would say a lot but I've been involved in mustang club since 09 when I got my first car which was a mustang
The way we do it on there is a big group effort really. Everton puts in input and ideas. I think it works good that way. Unfortunately a lot of people have sort of dropped off in there for various reasons :-/

There is gljt.org. It has kinda lost its umph. Could use a fresh infusion of new energetic members. All the framework is there with lots of great history. The lack of willing members to keep the club moving forward has left it lagging behind. Running a club is a lot of hard, thankless work. Go over there and start some noise. Let's get it up and running again.
