Northern Illinois Beginner Trails (SOS)

Hello all,

I just moved to northern IL, around North Chicago/Waukegan area. I'm from Arizona where trails are plentiful, but I'm having a really hard time finding beginner to moderate trails. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I really need somewhere for stress relief!

Thanks!

here in illinois we got the cliffs. that's about it unless you go way south. across the border into indiana you got the badlands. and if you liked playin in sand in arizona theres silver lake dunes in western michigan.

I hope you like the cold and snow. Winters are rough in chicagoland.

Turtles said it all. I would not wheel the cliffs ever again unless you just want ONE BIG MUD PILE.... If you want to go down to Badlands it is a 3 hour drive one way, I want to go again here soon. IF your living in Waukegan/north Chicago, I live 10 mins from ya in Gurnee. So I can help out if you break or want to do some improvements too.

Josh

If you haven't gotten more out of the insurance company than you deserve, then you haven't screwed them nearly as much as they have been screwing you for the past xx years.

I know it's a long drive away but we just made a good weekend of it in Northern Michigan.

Lot of beginner trails there. The North (or South?) branch trail is a good starter trail and a Michigan ORV permit for the whole year is only like $16 and gives you access to lots of roads.
