tire pressure??

As expected because of the this brutal cold in Chicago this year, the air pressure in my tires has been low - according to the pressure monitors probably around 31-35psi depending on the temp and if I park in a garage.

Ive read that people air down for off-roading, but is it bad to be this low for regular day-to-day driving? To be honest, Im sure everyone's tires get like this during the winter, the only reason i notice is because of the warning every time i start the jeep!

Not sure what tires you're running ... I've got 35" BFG KM2's and I run them consistently at 28psi on the road for even wear. If you're running the tires that were standard on your model when you bought it, you're ok. As you know, a little less pressure will give you better traction with all the snow we've had this year, but mileage suffers a bit. More pressure (not above manufacturer recommendation) gives you better mileage but a stiffer ride. There are a number of 3rd party modules you can buy like the AEV Procal that allow you to reprogram the TPMS system to a pressure you're more comfortable with. A dealer service dept. may also do this for you, but you'll have to check that out. I have the Procal and readjusted mine and have no issues.
