Plainfield

I'm here in Plainfield, just southwest of Chicago. Got my first Jeep back in August 2010. Seems like I use my jeep more for work than anything else. Here it is working near one of the quarries I work around.

Nothing special all stock so far....thinking of adding a light bar....any suggestions?

Why would you want a lightbar if you use it mostly for daily driving / work? Save the money to put towards some goodies for the interior.

Lots of familiar names in this thread.

Greg, that tree was in the middle of Crimmins road, it bypassed another little town called Millington on your way to Newark or Sheridan.. it was used quite often to get around the cops Millington had (Its still used often to bypass Millingtons cops)

Hey Sixgun - I live in VP too (also have a home in Elmhurst).

As for 'The Cliffs' in Marselles, IL. - It's a fun park but can be messy after rain storms just like all off road parks. Including Badlands in Attica, IN. Don't let the name scare you off - They have easy and technical courses there. I think you'll enjoy the Cliffs. Needless to say, don't underestimate a stock JK.

If you're interested, check out this local 4x4 club - I've been a member for two years now. Great club, family friendly. We wheel every month and have Meet & Greets every month as well. We're the fastest growing club in the area and there is no initiation unlike other clubs. We have members from IL, IN, MI & WI - We welcome ALL, regardless of 4x4 and or experience. We're also friends with other clubs from IN, WI, & MI.

FYI - We're wheelin' at Badlands the weekend of June 24 - 26th. Matter of fact, we are also meeting up (and camping with) Twisted Offroaders Jeep Club from NW Indiana. We camp at Summers Campground (not the campground outside Badlands Park). If you click on the club link above, you'll see the details of our trip next week. You don't need to be an official member to join us at Badlands. Note; we call this trip "Newbie Run", but it is a great time for everyone regardless of experience! The basis of this trip is to educate those with little or no experience and have a great time!! This is one of our most popular trips.

Here's our club facebook page too.

Hope to meet you sometime. Oh yeah, congrats on the Jeep purchase!

The tree I am thinking about was on Fox River Rd. just north of Whitefield rd. as you entered Millbrook coming from Plano. I know of Crimmins Rd. but not that tree.

Such a small world, I'm out in Plano, and my buddy is one of the 500 people that call millington home. Still no police dept there....makes Plano feel like the big city lol

No Millington doesnt have a 'police department' they use (or used to) off duty Kendall county cops... Ball busters, the little town had them on duty for 40 hrs a week... Always during 'prime time'

Right now I'm in Northern New Jersey for training until March 2012, but me and my TJ technically live in DeLand IL, betcha never heard of that town! Next year I will settle in to Monticello IL. Jess is my 1997 TJ Sport and she wears the Illinois plates with pride in Jersey Gives the cops a second look cause I bought her in my home state of New Hampshire and she still has the inspection sticker on her windshield.

Another forum newbie, but a recovering Jeep owner. Bought a new 89 YJ sahara off the lot in 1990. Sold it in 1995. Just bought an 89 Sahara (again) from a Forum member in Cinnci. I'm out in Plainfield and am working to restore it back to original stock.
