I used to live in Winnebago. Love Oregon IL. Even though it is in IL, it reminds me of a New England town close to where I grew up. I used to watch trains a lot there and my favorite place to eat in all of Illinois is there, Blackhawk Steak Pit. Soon as I get home, I'm taking my girl there for a good meal.

Awesome! I tell people my address is DeLand Illinois and most look at me like I've got lobsters coming out of my ears. Almost four more months and I'll be home.

Spent a lot of time there, I originally bought a Jeep so I could follow the BNSF tracks from Rochelle through Oregon and through to Savanna and get pictures. I got some good pics with my Jeeps. I think my 1985 CJ-7 is in Stillman Valley now.

Wow your daughter is lucky! Where in Illinois are you? My daughter thinks that my Jeep is hers. How is the insurance on the Jeep for your daughter. I'm looking to get my 17 year old daughter an XJ, but she really wants a YJ or TJ.

I'm from central Jersey and moved north of Chicago 25 years ago.

Now I hear both the Chicago & NYC comments.
The only thing I miss about NJ is the mild winters. :-)

Ha ha ha, totally right? My family and friends don't believe me when I say the winters in NH are way more mild. Sure NH gets a ton of snow and it can be -20, but there is no wind and the sun is out. East central can be -10 with a stiff wind of 40 MPH and the sun is usually gone for months at a time.

Virginia ..... 35 miles west of Springfield. My 22 year old daughter decided she might could use 4wd this winter for her commute to her new job, an RN at a local hospital. Our agent recommended Progressive, and this being her first policy, the quote was $ 422 for 6 months.

Her "fair weather ride" is an '07 Mazda 3 Sport, for now. Guess it'll depend on how well she likes her Jeep !
