Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, etc.

Sorry...just kidding...but really, how far south of Chicago are you interested? Suburbia or all the way down state? Rend Lake and Crab Orchard Lake are great, but they're way south near me and nowhere near Chicago. Need a more specific distance to be able to offer more help.

Unfortunately not around here. I do have a buddy with a friend with a bunch of land close by so I'm going to see if we can head there one of these days. DJ

Small haul from you but well worth the trip is snake den hollow in Victoria. If you throw a tent in the back and head south for the weekend....Spring lake, Powerton, Banner marsh, Emiquon, Chataqua, Rice Lake. All good spots south of peoria.

You need to come WAY south, as in 6 or 7 hours south for the good spots

Lake Springfield is a nice bass lake and a straight shot for you. Lots of places to stay and eat nearby. Some big bass in Springfield with a lot of shorties as well. Your line will not be fishless for long.

I'm Greg, from around the Litchfield area, 50 miles south of Springfield.

I'd like to join a club, or just go 4wheel'n if ya know of somewhere that's legal.

Here's what I have. 91, 6cyl, 5 speed.

^^^^That's not true at all... Jeeps are extremely reliable depending on what model you buy, but for sure buy the inline 6 cyl. TJ's are the best IMO, I don't like JK's at all and don't modify it allot and your good to go.

Why would you say they are not reliable they run to like 300,000 miles without many issues.

I agree I had TJ's with 220,000 miles and ones with 70K doesn't matter they are very reliable, just turn the key! I had a 98' in the blizzard in Chicago -10 degrees snow up to the bottom of the door put it in 4-low pulled right out while everyone with their Lexus and Mercedes Suv's just watched in awe. I sold that with 220K miles and the guy drive it straight to Mexico and will not sell it.

That's matter of opinion and how much money you have to spend on it.

My lift and tires + rims were $ 4,000.00 +

BDS 6.5" Long Arm Suspension
2 inch body lift
35"Goodyear MTR Kevlars on Diamond Racing rims that I had made for $85.00 each
