Yes in West Dundee (see post 229 above).
Here are names of clubs I found in Illinois.
DDO (Down & Dirty Offroad), CORE, Windy City Jeep Club, LOST, Xterra Jeep Club, Extreme Jeep, Citybilly's Jeep Club, JK Jeep, NW Indiana Jeepers, Chicagoland Dirty Deltas, Crossroads Jeep, Gauttlet Offroad, Great Lakes jeep thing, Jeep Alliance of Northern Illinois, Mid Illini Jeepers, Two rivers Jeep club, and Jeeps gone Wild. Not sure if some of the clubs exist anymore. Some Clubs are not strictly jeeps. DDO meets out in West Dundee and they seem very cool. They take all off roaders and meet monthly at Dylan's Bar
Who says you can't wear pearls (chrome) while you are muddin?
I'm in Aurora and belong to Two Rivers Jeep Club its about four hours south of here they meet and do runs every other weekend. Its all run on private members land average about 10 people per trail and average 3-5 trails per run usually a full day of runs and have two three day events each year its awesome and the only club I know of in the area where it is all private land and your the only ones on it. Not bad for $60 a year the only bummer is gas getting down there but well worth it
It aint no fun till someone snaps a rod!
Well it is off road time again, the ddo off road club is having a off road meet at the Cliffs in Marseilles il,it will be muddy, some of the town was flooded, and the middle of the cliffs became a river, but my understanding is now everything is ok.It will be this saturday 4/27/13 if you looking to join a club this might be for you.We meet at 9am sharp,to go over rules and check over vehicles to make sure they pass.As long as your vehicle has 4wd(low range is a must)recovery points front and back, you have a recovery strap(no hooks on the strap)a c/b radio,a full size spare, and dont mind getting dirty this might be for you.If not skip this meet and go to the next meet and greet at dylins pub in may, details will follow soon.
To request to join, go to our private Facebook page and click the "Join" button near the top right. This will give you access to our private club page. You must be an active club member though. Active simply means you need to participate - either attend club meetings, join us on some of the outings, help out or attend other events.

I saw the title and couldn't resist the check in: I'm from Brookfield as my last Illinois residence and currently living in New Mexico. I own a country store with gas in the middle of nowhere.
I can hit a trail in less than 5 minutes and spend the day not seeing a soul until I hit pavement again. I can ride in the Santa Fe Nat. Forest, BLM lands, or a few private ranches locally.
I travel the the Chicago burbs at least twice a year. Mom still lives near Brookfield. I watch the Illinois forum when I know I'll have time to play and hope to hit a group going someplace within a decent driving range.
I'm also a city dweller. With all of us Chicago folks, I'm surprised I don't get more people waving back
I have both a JK and TJ. In my own random sample in the north burbs and north side of the city, I get a lot more waves and returned waves in the TJ than the JK for whatever reason. Significantly less waves (&returns) in the JK.
New member and Jeep owner from Naperville here. Got my 2008 X 6spd manual a few months ago and just put a winch on it a few weeks ago. Hoping to check out a trail one of these weekends and see how it is off the road. Which would be better for a first timer? The Cliffs or Badlands? Or is there somewhere else not horribly far away from the area that would be worth checking out? Are there any clubs/groups around the area?
