Just wondering who is near. Lets see your jeep!

Hey guys/gals, My name is Chad, I'm from Yorkville. (that is south west of Aurora)

Here is my Heep

Here is my Fiance's jeep, her name is Becky. Her jeep was stock when I met her 11/05, and looked like this in 6/06 :D (I am a bad influence)

I'm in Naperville/Aurora - Along RTE 59

My new (to me) Jeep is an '05 LJ pretty much stock. Picked it up from Northbrook, IL around the start of this month (7/4/2010). She only had 17k miles on her and I'm pretty sure she just sat in the Garage most of the time. Have to talk the wife into the upgrades. I think in order to do that, I need to get her to go off road a few times so she can see the value in a winch, skid plates, lifts, bigger tires, etc. I need people with these things to go wheeling with me so when I get stuck (I know I will cause she is stock) I can get un-stuck and the wifey can see how all the "expensive toys" help.

My YJ "Julie" is going to my dad down in east TN where she can roam the mountains and wooded trails once again. She isn't much more than stock with a 4-banger, but she gets up and down just fine. My dad has been lonely since the passing of his CJ-5 and has resorted to driving around in his 1980 Jeep J-10 Truck "Old Red".

Along those lines, my first Jeep was a 1981 J-10 Truck with Step Side Bed and Roll Cage. It was a Black Spray Paint Special. We all called it "Smokey" not for the color but because of the actual smoke. Never thought to take photos of it, now I wished I had.

If you are in the Chicago area - then there are plenty of people to help - otherwise, maybe you might be close to CMEvans - and if so, then he might gain a wheeling partner in exchange for helping you put on a Soft top :D

Let us know where you are at...By the way - sharp looking ride

CME I grew up in Bethalto but now live in W. TN. If you go out for a ride come on down and I'll take you out to Turkey Bay. It's a 30 min ride from my house. It's set up for anything from stock to real crawling and everything in between. There will be a bunch of military jeepers out there camping over labor day with the full gamit from trailer queens to daily drivers and it's always the more the merrier. Here are some shots from out there last month. Turkey Bay pictures by gatekeeper53 - Photobucket

I'm in the Naperville area. Just picked up my silver '10 jk sport unlimited hardtop an 3.73 auto tranny. I never thought I would ever want a jeep since I've been a sports car guy (ws6 trans am, audi S4, evo8) but I really love the jeep. Plus they were offerin good deals -3g's off sticker. Threw in a KN and have a superchip on the way. Next thing on the agenda is a hoist for the hardtop, rocksliders or bars to cover up the unfinished look. Bigger rims and tires. Everything will be mainly for looks since I don't expect to have a lot of time to hit any trails.
Hope to be waving to a few of yas in the future.

Hey All, Newbie here, 94 wrangler, nothing too exciting. Just got bit by the "jeep bug." I'm located just outside Deer Creek Il, between Peoria and Bloomington. I'd like to find some trails around if anyone knows of any or even just a jeep buddy. Millions of questions (some stupid)!! Thanks. Dave
