Yes I´ve been there. IMO it´s one of the best offroad parks here in Germany. There are routes where you need portal axles and 38s...

Hey nicolas-eric,
I'm considering shipping offroad products to germany and talking to a few of the german truck shops to see if they're interested in products.

two questions
- Are there any particular parts that is not available there that people are trying to get ahold of?
-Do you know any websites for the german offroad suppliers?

Danke

Most of the German Jeep shops buy their parts in the US.
I also order my parts in the US, because they cost 1/3 - 1/2 less than in the German Jeep shops.

Many parts aren´t available here.
Smittybilt armor and winches, Kilby parts, PSC parts and some more.

I've been talking to fabricators around here about a new type of Flat fender that is flexible but still offers a lot of side protection, they also make armour.

Would people rather buy from a german shop or order from the US

Are there any other types of parts that people want over there (and what sorts of things don't meet EU specifications)?

What we are missing is a 7" flat fender with. Here in Europe the whole tires must be covered. With 12.5" wide tired we need 6" or better 7" flares.

Over here it´s neary impossible to make steel bumpers street legal. The law says that aftermarket bumper must give the same protecions to pedestrians (in case of an accident) than the stock bumper.

If the price is ok, people would buy from a German shop.
But most things are too expensive over here.

Well any pedestrian hit by a jeep isn't going to fare too well...

I can get the fenders to Germany, that won't be a problem..I'll talk to the company about making extra sized fenders.

What exactly does a bumper have to be made of?

A bumper must be as safe (in case of an accident with a pedestrian) as the stock bumper. And that must be proved by a crash test.
The only exception is a bumper that is also a winch mount.

If you want to work with a German Jeep shop, I would call KS-Tuning Gundelsheim, thay already sell PSC parts from the US.

Ok thank you.

So winch bumpers can be an exception to having foam padded bumpers?

oh and, what do you think of the old Flattie type of front fenders?

That coud also be a problem. Our laws say, that the tires must be covered a bit in the front and the rear.

30 from centre line to front and 50 from centre line on back? I'm not sure how that can be acheived with any type of tube or flat fender
I'll have to search around for that or put in some sort of custom EU order. The rear tyre coverage is no problem...but front coverage on a front tyre is uncommon for tube fenders

That's why I don´t have tube fenders.
These things would be ok, but they aren´t available in a 7" version.

If you can send me the company that makes those (those aren't fenders, they're just the flares) I can probably talk to them or I can find one that will make those

Snow

Hi Friends,

We've had a cold and snowy winter here in the north of England and my Wrangler JK has been brill ! I guess that my snow here would have been nothing compared to what some of you are used to in Finland, Iceland and other places.
Even so, all those little cars that laugh at a big 4wd in the Summer maybe saw the value of my fabulous Jeep this Winter !
Trouble in England is that the 'green' movement is slowly getting access forbidden to many old tracks and lanes and eventually I guess that one day we will be only able to 'off road' on private areas.
In England we just have too many people on a small island, so there are a lot of competing demands on 'the great outdoors'.
I really envy you in mainland Europe/Scandanavia, with lots of space and access to a lot of areas you can off road.
Maybe one day I'll bring my Jeep across the Channel and see if I can come and join in one of your off road weekends.
Please keep posting on this site, I really like seeing what my Jeeper friends are doing across Europe.

Johnny

Canary islands

Hi all
From UK but now live in Puerto Rico in canaries. There is a number of us with our Jeeps ideal weather with no roof we just get hammered on parts via import tax. e.g 2 mirrors from uk postage £30 when postman knocked it cost me another 28 euro's import tax
