My poor jeep : (

I need some advice

Tthe battery has been completely kaput so ordered a new one (when I got it the seller did recommend a new battery anyway, I think the off-roading drove it over the edge - pun not intended but it works)

Whacked it in last night and after a wheezey splutter to life the needle hovered at almost verticle and then minutes after I pulled off the drive went back into the red (at 9 rather than 14)

So does this mean the car thinks it's not charging the battery? Help!

Measure the volts at the battery terminals with the engine running. You should see 14 volts. If it's less than this then your alternator could be on it's way out.

trying to get the alternator reconditioned at the moment, or at least find out if we can do that rather than buy a new one.

So, are there any laws in England about driving with the top/doors off?

It's not the laws that make us keep the doors on, it's the weather!

boys over the age of 14 who can carry a longbow should be doing two hours of pratice every weekend.

my alternator didn't get fixed in time for the off-roading event on Sunday
my vehicle looks far too clean to be a jeep.

Nice.

So are there still a bunch of jeeps running around at Spang? Last time I was there(2009) I saw a bunch of jeeps on base. FYI...I'll be PCSing to Spang this spring and will be in the market for a TJ when I get there. I'm shipping my WRX so my current jeep is going to go bye-bye and I'll pick another one up over there. Is there normally a number of jeeps for sale in the area or are they hard to come by?
