2007 wrangler clutch

I just got my first jeep wrangler unlimited 2007 40,000km on the clock.
I am finding it hard to get used to the clutch it bites about an inch from the top, and when changing gear only need to dip clutch slightly.
Is this normal ?

I run 35's on stock gearing and its hopeless.

Getting new diffs fitted Monday 4.88's so that will hopefully fix it.

I Don't have shudders.

The Clutch on the JK has often been an issue in different models.
