2008 Arizona Game & Fish Outdoor Expo

This weekend myself, Hackle, Absolute Offroad, and a few others participated in the 2nd Annual Arizona G&F Outdoor Expo. This is something new here in AZ that G&F has done to highlight all of the activities that the Outdoors in AZ has to offer. There were booths setup from everyone including the Sierra Club, NRA, Minutemen, Cabella's, Bass Pro, Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, Tread Lightly, Ride Now, Gun Manufacturers (You could actually fire the weapons), Fishing equipment, hiking, OHV, Jeep experience, Archery, Trick shot artists, etc..... They approached us (AZOHVC) about doing off road demonstrations. Last year the course was out of place and small. We didn't get too many people. This year we had a prime location and really worked well with the event personnel to build us a very valid course for showing off 4wheeling in Arizona. It was free to the public and we had huge crowds for our demo's. Even the Jeep employees were coming over and taking pictures of us. However they weren't too excited about us coming over and driving their vehicles on the Jeep Experience.

We even had a bit of carnage. Thoughout the weekend the grounds crew at the even were great. All we had to do was get the water guys on the radio and they would bring the loader over and fix the rock pile for us. Well about noon yesterday we just told the guy make it messed up and have fun with it. Well we promptly broke a front driveshaft and and Joe ripped one of the valve stems off my tire. I was only down about an hour and a half and we had a new valve stem in it.

Awesome stuff Jack - wish I could have made it down.. stupid work, that makes two events I've missed.

And this is from one of Rox's photos... I love how scared she looks, even though she was on the bleachers.

No worries. With the sucess of this event it's not going anywhere anytime soon. We were such a big hit this year that they have already started talking to us about 2009.

Looks like a ton of fun!!! I am still waiting for the snow to melt here... Maybe in May! I will have to keep tabs on the "new" offroad shop up the road from me to see if they set up a kewl little rock garden to play in.

Thanks....And it can't hurt to bring it to their attention. It all starts somewhere, and could be a good thing for OHV in your area if you had a hand in getting something started for the future of all outdoor activities in your state.

Cool!!!
We had our outdoor expo a few weeks ago, we didn't have anything that cool.
