Cars and Coffee (car meet,NO 56K!)

Went to a Cars and Coffee meet. A couple of notes:
1. I WISH I had a DSLR, only had a point and shoot
2. I went with some friends and they were in a rush... wish I could have stayed longer and got some more shots :-\

The thing I like about Scottsdale's C&C: Kickass cars!
The thing I hate about Scottsdale's C&C: The people. They won't even talk to you (well me), it's frustrating.

Kit car... still was awesome. A lot of guys were sitting around this one. I am going to have one someday

and here is what $1.6 million looks like...
the guy was like 5'4, with a hot ass blonde. He looked like a little cocky bi*ch if you ask me. He would be the one to buy a million dollar car for attention.

Nice photos, as always.

Did you hear that the Ariel Atom is coming out with a new one with a bigger engine? 'Cuz you know, on the current model, the face gets pulled but not totally removed.

I love the idea of that car, but don't think I'd ever buy one. The Cobra, though, is a different story. Almost same performance as an Ariel, but coupled with some of the best looks ever. Plus you could drive this slowly on a Sunday and be proud of yourself. In the Ariel you'd be glad you were wearing a helmet.

That family behind the Veyron seems to have a genetic defect.

trust me Geoff, I know all about the Atom lol, I guess you can say I know a little to much.
The Ariel Atom 500, with over 500 hp V8 on it's back. Pricing will be a little over $100k, but for the price, it can match ANY car within that price range. It's design is genius, using the chassis as an exoskeleton. That is my 2nd favorite car in the world haha

The Cobra is... well you probably know. It's like wild sex. It's loud, you can't control it, and you always need to be paying attention. But once you hear it start up, you just want some more

We have a dealership for the Superformance Cobra and Shelby replicars across from the track where I work. The guys bring them over to show them off to potential customers. I have 2 friends who got great deals on them through a divorce. One friend got the husband's and the other got the wives. The funny part is that the 2 people who bought them didn't know each other until I introduced them.

haha thats awesome JD!
Superformance is my favorite, if you look at all the details, they cover every one. Every owner I've talked to had positive feedback on the company. One even bought two of them, one for him and one for his son.

BTW. You may have been using a point and shoot but you got some great shots. I am a car crazy person as well, that is why I spend most of my spare time and some of my working time at a racetrack. I've ridden in some of the coolest cars out there and put out a few fires at the same time. You really should look into joining a local region of SCCA. It is cheap if you are under 25 and you get to see and do things that other car lovers only dream about. Oh yea, the owners you run into at the track are NICE guys.

Look at it this way, I drive a Jeep and I get to play. I would never put it on the course under race conditions, but ..... the driver's love us so much that they let us do hot laps in cars like this

What kind of engine was the Atom running? I know the Type-R version are a little hard to get into the country. The one I've seen was running a turbocharged Ecotec making ~320hp.

Awesome pics btw - super jealous you got to see a Veyron first hand.

Honestly, not sure. I don't know sh*t about engines. It is either the Type-R (supercharged) or the Ecotech (supercharged). Most of the ones in the U.S. are Ecotechs.

As for the Veyron, yeah it is cool, but I would never get one. As a car guy I appreciate it, but it is a waste of money.

the US spec ones use the ecotech from the cobalt. and it will have different tunes depending on which level you get. the ones outside of the us use the honda motor with varied tunes.

More than likely an Ecotec then. Yeah, the Veyron is a waste of money, I only like it because of the technology, and it's a work of art.

I read this article last month, very cool story and some awesome pictures.
