I'm also thinking about getting one of those tops, not sure what they're called, that still let the air in and keep the dog in without me having to loop his leash around the back seat.

Nice Shot.
Lucky you that your dog doesn't jump out of the Jeep.

I think thats the one i'm thinking of. It's netted right? yeah with his leash looped around the seat in the middle there was just enough play for him to go look out both sides!

I really was impressed for the quality.
the rear zipper looks pretty good ant like they said they use a kind of miltary grade material.
But if I where you I will keep my dog with a leash just in case.
I found out that with the paw they can step on the edge put some weight down the edge and snap the railing and then something bad can happen.
Thats my only concern, specially with your dog.
My dog is a 25 pound but yous is probably twice.

When I take my shaggy mutt riding with me, I run a tight cable between the footman's loops and attach a short leash to it. That way she can get from side to side, stand up or lay down and not have to lasso her to the seat. It also keeps her from jumping over into the rear seat.

Lucky with all that extra space! I thought about that but i'd have to take my seat out, but we're going to the beach again today so we'll see about that. Hopefully Lake Michigan is still calm.

We took our 3 month old chocolate lab puppy to the beach for Easter...she loved it!!

Couldn't take the Jeep since we've got 4 kids, but she did enjoy riding in the Yukon XL.

Great pic!
