Finally! After waiting forever on my tires and wheels, then waiting a week to find time to put my Jeep under the knife...I finally got it completed.
The lift is a 2.5" Teraflex. I forgot to measure before the lift, but I'm guessing I got 3"-3.5" actual lift. I trimmed the pinch seam about 1". Other than that, no trimming required. No rubbing at full steering lock either.
The tires are 35/12.5/15 Mickey Thompson MTZ. I'll tell you now, they're loud already
haven't been offroad yet, but they look like they'll tear it up. Actual measured tire height is 34" @ 28psi.
Wheels are 15" ProComp Rock Crawlers with 3.75 BS. I DID NOT need to grind my calipers with my front D30.
This is my Jeep before the work.
tires stick out approx 2".
I cut this seam here in the rear wheel well with a grinder. I rattlecanned it after this picture to match the body paint.
rides pretty nice. The shifting is wacky, but here in flatass Ohio overdrive WILL engage. In a couple weeks I'm getting a flashpaq to correct that. No DW, weird shakes, or handling thus far. I'll also say that with 4.11 gears and 35's, I have no plans to gear it lower.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the look. I'm pretty sure offroad is going to be very nice too.
