Got My Lift Installed (pics)

Finally! After waiting forever on my tires and wheels, then waiting a week to find time to put my Jeep under the knife...I finally got it completed.

The lift is a 2.5" Teraflex. I forgot to measure before the lift, but I'm guessing I got 3"-3.5" actual lift. I trimmed the pinch seam about 1". Other than that, no trimming required. No rubbing at full steering lock either.

The tires are 35/12.5/15 Mickey Thompson MTZ. I'll tell you now, they're loud already haven't been offroad yet, but they look like they'll tear it up. Actual measured tire height is 34" @ 28psi.

Wheels are 15" ProComp Rock Crawlers with 3.75 BS. I DID NOT need to grind my calipers with my front D30.

This is my Jeep before the work.

now after

tires stick out approx 2".

I cut this seam here in the rear wheel well with a grinder. I rattlecanned it after this picture to match the body paint.

rides pretty nice. The shifting is wacky, but here in flatass Ohio overdrive WILL engage. In a couple weeks I'm getting a flashpaq to correct that. No DW, weird shakes, or handling thus far. I'll also say that with 4.11 gears and 35's, I have no plans to gear it lower.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the look. I'm pretty sure offroad is going to be very nice too.

nice job, very sharp with the black wheels.

I don't like girly plates either, I was sooooo pissed when Michigan made me turn in my dark blue plate for a white one. Urrrgggg.... I had a blue plate here for more than 15 years!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I appreciate it.

Yes those are 35's.

As for the plates, they all suck I hated the old ones too. The DMV threw those at me and were all "these ok?" I'm like "sure, whatever" lol

plate is a plate. They all suck in my mind.

The old, old Ohio plates, like from the 90's before that bicentennial crap were ok. I had those but they were all rusted out so the state made me buy those.

NY is changing our plates over to an ugly yellow with navy lettering and a navy heading...

New license plates is just a way for a state to make some money.
