You can go to any Autozone or Advance Or even a Walmart Auto Center and they will scan your check engine light for FREE. I actually like Wal Mart the best because their scanners have printers that print out the results. No need to wait an go to a dealer for scanning, they will try to overcharge you for any work they do anyway.

Because the CEL came on same day I bought it I gave it to the dealership to address. they are replacing the manifold gasket which they say is leaking. I suspect putting a new manifold on is a good idea at some point.

By the way the dealership kicks ass as far as taking care of things!!!

That's cool if they are repairing without charge. I would always still have it at least scanned elsewhere first, doesn't cost anything.

I got a Bluetooth obd2 scanner from Amazon for about $12 and paid for the Torque Pro app for about $5 and I shouldn't ever need to go elsewhere for a CEL again. It gives me real time data and checks the code status with my Droid. Love it.

That sounds cool I did have auto zone check it. It was a bad 02 sensor reading. They said tune up. Dealership found a bad exhaust gasket and warped manifold. I wish I had the money for gale banks header/manifold but stock will have to do for now.

Oreilly can print em too.

I have a 300 dollar scan tool. Its nice to be able to clear the cel repeatedly for diagnostics.

My wife and I were both Life Flighted out, a lot of injuries, nothing really life threatening. I was unconscious and still don't remember anything after the impact. We cartwheeled off an embankment is all I know. Our Border Collie was in the Jeep and got thrown free, someone picked her up and took her to a friends kennel, amazingly unhurt.

One of the roads we found and had fun on in the Capitol Reef area.
Honestly, the Jeep is an 09 and this is the first time I v really had it offroad with washboard roads, sand dust and rocks.
