It leaves the paint extremely slick. Sealants and waxes last longer on the surface and protect better after a clay.

I use an orbital buffer with removable foam pads such as this one;

Your shine looks great btw. Turtle Wax ICE was sent to me to test and write a review on a few years ago. I remember it being a decent locally available product.
This is great information. Since May 23, I have washed and waxed my Jeep three times...lol. It gets washed every weekend. And no, I don't take it off roading. It's my DD (and i carpool to work...lol).

Do you have any suggestions for keeping the flares from fading? I am freaking out about it. I have been putting on the turtle wax ice on it (the hardtop too).

You cant keep them from fading, but you can slow its progress. A special trim dressing will work, or 303 Aerospace. Its a water based dressing similar to what I use on tires and interiors, and its available at marine and camping stores as well as at the store in that link I sent you.

Tomorrow I will clean the BF's Jeep, since he wont. I'm too OCD to not clean his since I'm in it half the time.

The only thing I use is Nu finish. I put three coats on in a year and found this stuff to be second to none!

I thought you weren't supposed to use that stuff on new cars. I guess I was wrong. Your Jeep looks sexy!
