Ive got a JKU and a TJ, love them both. For 20k you should be able to get a solid TJ with money for upgrades.

03-06 Rubicon TJ or LJ.

2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 6 speed, (LJ), the mot beautiful and perfect Wrangler you can ever buy in stock form, you get the rugged, macho look of a TJ with great cargo space and legroom. The 6 speed trans is the way to go, and the rubicon package gives you front and rear air lockers, better suspension, sweet looking rims, better resale value and bragging rights.

If not i would get a low mileage 2003-2004 Rubicon 5 speed.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
