Here is my JD...she's 50/50 German Shepherd and Black Lab. The Sire was full Black Lab and the Dame was full German Shepherd. She's almost 2 years old, weighs around 80 lbs, and is a big reason (no pun intended) I bought my Jeep. She just couldn't fit comfortably in my Mustang anymore and I put it off until I couldn't any longer. Now that I have the soft top on and will be driving with the top down more often than not, I need to find a way to secure her from falling/jumping out. I'm thinking about tethering her to the rear seat loops, but I'm not 100% on it yet. I want to be able to toss a dog bed in the back so she can have something more comfortable to lay on (she's a little spoiled), but that might remove the ability to use the cargo loops (under rear seat).

Get the wrap around cargo net. Lots of different companies make them. Keeps the dog in and I really like the look when the top is down as well
