Let's see those 97 Wranglers!

I have had three Wranglers over the years including a 1998 Sahara, a 2002 Sahara and my most recent, a 1997 SE (Which is my favorite!). Being 12 model years old mine is still in excellant shape...hard to believe it's the first model year of the TJ!

Let's see some pics of your 97's.

He's a few pics of mine:

Here's a few of my '97... it's not pretty anymore but it's not in too bad of condition either for 188,000 miles and lots of rocks under it's belt.

Thanks for the pics fellas...Jeeps look good!

I've heard people say (in general) "Stay away from the first model year of any vehicle until the manufacturer works all of the kinks out", but I have to say my 97 has been the least problematic of my 3 Wranglers.

Jerry - I've learn a lot from your posts on this forum....your extensive knowledge and experience is very much appreciated!

My 1st Jeep

Here's a pic of my 1st Jeep. 1997 SE with 4 banger. It drove smooth as silk but did not have a/c and lacked a little in the power department. I really loved the Jeep but upgraded to a 2001 4.0L Sport . It's also Flame Red but with a black hard top and charcoal interior . I miss my soft top and half doors in the summer

Here's mine right after installing the RE Long Arm.. flexing up on my sons Cherokee.

138K miles and runs great - got it as a fixer-upper for a good price - of course I've spent WAY more that I ever thought I would...

This is with the hardtop and full doors. I've since swapped to the softtop and half doors for the warm weather!

Nice rig Markhuntsville! What did you repaint your frame with? POR 15? Looks good!

It amazes me at how well Wranglers hold up to the years!

erickpl - What size tires are you running with the 4:88 gearing? I have a 2.5L running 32 X 11.5's with 4:10's, which works for now. Eventually I would like to go with at least 33's, but I believe that I would need to re-gear to 4:88's.

Any advise?

Where did you get those floor mats at? Mine are the ones that came with it and they are the suck, and like to slip around under my feet which is not good at all.

Nater, running 4.88's currently with the 33x12.5x15's you see in the pic.
