Garvin Bumper with the light bar cut off. Warn M8000 winch and a winch plate similar to the Warn Plate (forget the manufacturer).

Smitty front bumper. Inexpensive. I bought it on sale for around $65.00 new over 3 years ago. It has taken some hits and is still fine. I invested the savings on other modifications. The Smitty winch didn't last as long.

Smitty rear bumper. Bumper only, no tire carrier. Paid $119.00 for it. Use the hitch regularly to move 20' V8 bowrider boat and car hauler into the backyard to their parking spots. Have used it to drag downed trees to campsites for firewood. No problems to date. I invested the savings on other mods.

Bestop oversize tub mounted tire carrier. $350 new. No complaints. Used the savings from my cheapo, functional bumpers to buy it. So it was basically free!

I built mine... one of the first projects I did for my TJ. 12 hours on front and 6-8 on the rear.

Front:

Started with 2x6x.120 wall. 1" tow points that go thru the bumper. Strongback for mounting from .25" angle on top and bottom for strength and rigidy.

Rear:

3x4x.25" wall. .25" plating used for mounting. recessed 7 way flat RV plug for future towing and custom built 2" receiver.

Swing away tire carrier in the works.... my own creation of the pivot with Timken Bearings and races...3" stainless steel solid stock to this...
