Its hard to find at a decent price here, in SC. You should make friends with someone who reloads.

I'm down in the low country so prices are inflated a bit more. Have you played with your wifes 15-22? I love mine. Before Christmas I bought 2 50rd drums from Black Dog and love them. I also like that the feed tower can be changed and they can be used on my Ruger 10-22.

I sent most of my long guns to live in my father's gun safe up north bc of the worries I was having about some of my sister and brother in laws shady friends that were always coming over. Now that they have moved out, I will eventually get them back home where they belong. But here is an incomplete list of what I have.

S&W 15-22, Ruger 10-22(my first real rifle), Remington 870 (my first shotgun), Ruger p89 9mm, another 870 that was passed down after an uncle passed away, a .22 bolt action from same uncle, Springfield Loaded 1911 (love the trition night sights, Springfield XDs .45, an evil Bushmaster .223, Saiga .308, Remington .270, winchester 30-06, an early 1900 double barrel 12 gauge (can remember the maker, blackpowder .50 Cal, and a double barrel. 410/.45 pocket cannon (my snake popper). I know there are a few other I am forgetting.

Just remembered, Colt Python. 357 long barrel. I think 7 inches. Walther P22(it is the same size as the XDs) have I mentioned I love my XDs... looking forward to adding the 9mm version to the family, but the Damn jeep keeps emptying my pockets.

Not my wives. Told her when I bought it I would never shoot it. Lol. But my brother inlaws got one I liked it but I have the Plinkster so haven't got me one. If I do might go with the Mossberg one cheaper for what it with be used for.

Had the XDS sold it to get the SYE and driveshaft for the Jeep.lol I do love tte XDM full size everyday carry for 4 years.

The main reasons glocks jam is because you don't have your wrist locked and it causes them to stove pipe. I have a glock 21 and a couple of other guns but im only 17. My dads a cop and that's what they carry. Trustiest gun in the world to me... besides a shotgun.

A definite good start!! PD issued weapons are not always preferred by all lol. Look into revolver, the most trustworthy gun you will ever own!! The Ruger Single Six is a great starting point!

Unless it has a flashlight (and/or laser) on the rail and then the pre-gen4 Glocks in .40S&W tend to become failure prone unless the mag springs are relatively new. This is one reason the Gen4 Glocks started out with the 21/22 as the first release and not the 17/19. I will not own a pre-Gen4 .40S&W Glock for the reason I mentioned and I won't own a 9mm Gen4 Glock. There were too many issues when the Gen4 Model 17/19 came out and Glock denied there was a problem, but they would send you the part to fix the non-existent problem. They seem to be fine now but who knows?

Strange I have put 1000's of rounds thru a glock 22 first gen with a rail light (streamlight)and never had a single failure or misfeed. I am embarassed to say I don't keep my gats clean as I should eitehr. I am
(im)patiently waiting for my gen 4 34 to show up.

I agree they are not the prettiest but I stopped oogling over how guns looked years ago. Know I just want them to work and for me the ugly old glock works pretty good. Kind of like the supermodel girlfriend once you get older you would rather have the old homely gal who can cook instead..... well maybe not lol.

Glock's are good guns, they definitely aren't pretty though. I have a HK USP that is a great gun and looks cool as hell... and it works perfectly too. Although they are more expensive. I think I want both, looks and function.

Well my dad has been a cop for 27 years. He carried a 6 shot revolver 357 when he started. Then they swapped to glock 40's. And now to glock 40's. And if he has trusted his life with that gun for 20 some odd years then ill gladly carry one to. And I have the gen 4, 45. Shot roughly 2, 000 through it since Christmas. Hasnt jammed once. Just how I see it. Everyone has an opinion lol.

We can't carry here... if I could I would probably carry a Glock 19. However I feel safe in every part of my city, so I probably wouldn't anyway.

In 2011 (most recent stats I can find) we had 1 murder, compared to 311 in Detroit, MI, which is about 5 miles from my house.

I'm not sure about this, you must be mistaken somewhere because first gen glocks didn't have rails. Also I forgot that the G21 is a .45, much more reliable than the .40 and the .40 models are 22/23

I have never heard of a glock 22 or 23 not being reliable. Between me and my dad we have 7 glocks, none have had a failure.

Believe what you wish, but the tac light issue on .40S&W Glocks is well documented and a known issue. A quick search using your preferred search engine should let you find more information. I'm not going to continue to take this thread off topic any further.

To get the thread back on target Here's a picture of a Kimber TLE II that went 1024 rounds w/o being cleaned, lubed, or taken apart once w/o a single failure.

that could be true. I just shoot them for work now days because they make me lol. The Glock simply has Glock 22 stamped on it with no gen 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. I know the 3's and 4's are marked so maybe the 1 and 2 generations were not so it very well could be a 2, I just tought after the 1st gen they would start marking them 2 , 3 etc but sounds like that is not the case. In any event I sure have been happy with my 22.

3s are not marked. Gen 1 had no finger grooves on front. Gen 2s have grooves. Gen 3 is first for the rail. Gen 4s are marked

How long did you have to wait for your stamp? I have been hearing around 7 months or so. I gotta get off my ass and finish my paperwork. I want to purchase a can, and I also plan on building one on a Form 1. Jeep mods have been eating my tax stamp money.

I have 4 stamps and all of the took 6 months almost to the day. The BATFE added examiners last year so hopefully it will get down to 90 days like it used to be.
