1970 GTO Judge Convertible

I sold it a few years back, but this one really turned heads in South Florida! 400 cubic inch engine, 400 turbohydromatic transmission... Both "numbers matching" original. I bought it already restored and made good money selling it a few years later. Coolest part was the hood mounted tach.

Maybe not a "Muscle Car" by usual terms but it is 468" Chevy powered.

NHRA Altered. The body is based on a 1932 American Austin Bantam. 0-60 1.3 sec. 0-100 Less than 6 sec.

This is my 68 Friebird. I bought it in 1985 as a 17 year old kid with money I had saved up cutting lawns. I bought it for $650.00. It's an original overhead cam 6cyl Sprint with a 4 speed. About 2 months after buying it I yanked out the original numbers matching OHC 6cyl and dropped in a worked 400. I ran the snot out of the car and drag raced it all over the Philadelphia area. Well the stock one leg 6cyl rear couldn't handle the power of the 400 and it blew...then the trans blew. So the car went into my dad's garage and was rebuilt all over this time with a new worked 400, a Muncie M-21 4 speed and a 10 bolt rear with 3:90 gears. Let me tell you back in the day this car couldn't be touched. It ran like a raped ape.

Then in 1989 I joined the Marines and the car went into my dad's garage again where it sat for years untoouched. I got out of the Marines in 1995 and got the car up and running but she now needed body work. The floors weren't too bad but the quarters needed attention. So off the road she came and she underwent a 10 year restoration.

Now the car is a complete Firebird 400 clone. It has a correct 400YS motor from a 68 GTO. It runs ported and polished 6X heads, a factory Ram Air II cam, an Edelbrock Performer intake with a tricked out Q-jet carb. It also runs a set of Doug's headers, into a 2-1/2 Flowmaster exhaust. I still runthe Muncie M-21 4 speed into a 10 bolt rear with an Eaton Posi and 3:55 gears. ( I still have the 3:90 rear in my garage)

The body was totally re-done with new quarters, floors, fenders, and paint. It's an original Verdoro green with a white vinyl top car. I also converted the car to power steering and power disc brakes. It runs REALLY strong and looks great. I love this car and it will be with me until the day I die.

My dad used to have a '69 camaro. Not a V8 though. It was totaled out about a 20 years ago by a simi. I'll try to get a few pics tomorrow.

Nice car!! My dad had an old 6cyl '69 camaro. I remember the engine needed some work so he replaced some parts and I think repainted some of the body. I'm not sure entirely what he did, the cars been totally since before I was born. How did you fix the quarters? Did you replace or use bond? How many horses is she pushing? Man she sure does look nice, a lot of effort must have gone into her!
