Precisely! I likes my steps. They also make it easier to climb into and out of the back seat.

To each their own, I reckon. I guess I'll never fit-in with the cool crowd.

I've tinkered with a few ideas for a foot rest that would attach the the lower (or upper) door hinge vacated by removing the door. Oughta be slightly more comfortable than the step.

I saw some such varmint on one of the jeep outfitter sites but it was just a peg that stuck out and that looks fine if'n your wearing hard-soled shoes....but might be a bit uncomfortable if you are riding for any distance bare-foot or have softer soes like water-shoes, etc.

Since everything around here is atleast 30-45 minutes away....I try to enjoy every trip.

I am sure it would be an easy mod for someone, I saw on a thread that a guy made a dog perch that slid over his half door, pretty cool if you half doors ha ha. my pup just likes to "surf "on the back seat and tire wells which freaks me out a little, I bet you could look on biker sites and find something
