My first jeep

Hello all!! This is my first post on this board. Anyways, I just purchased my first Jeep the day before yesterday. After driving my friends CJ I knew I a Jeep was for me. I think I got a great deal. It's an 87 YJ with an inline six I purchased for $2,300. The Jeep is in fair condition.

The Good:
-Straight six with no leaks! 291k miles (didn't want a pesky four-banger, no offense)
-Never been hit! +++++
-Color is flat white. Original paint but faded. Looks rugged.
-Good tires.
-I am the third owner.
-Interior is immaculent for a 22+ year old Jeep
-It came with a hardtop!

The Bad:
-E-brake is not functional (I will get it working over the weekend)
-A/C and heater does not blow
-Base of the windshield frame is severely rusted
-Passenger door does not open from the outside
-Gears will sometimes clunk or grind while shifting. (I think there are a couple reasons for this. The pivot between the clutch pedal and the master cylinder push rod is missing a bushing resulting in too much play. Also, I think the throwout bearing is starting to go. Sometimes the pedal will "sinking" without much pedal pressure) From what I've read the Peuguot transmission is not a desireable tranny. Maybe in the future I will upgrade to a NV3550 or the AX-15.
-Possible failing oil pump. I was driving to class yesterday and noticed a clicking noise. Sounded like starving lifters. Checked the oil pressure gauge and zero oil pressure. I immediately pulled over and checked the oil level. Oil was there. I fired her backup, oil pressure was there, and no more clicking?! WTF? Since then, I've kept a close eye on the oil pressure gauge. Your input on this would be appreciated.
-It's caburated. Sorry guys, I prefer fuel injection. I hope to convert this in the future.
-It's pretty rough over bumps. I know, it's a Jeep! Just nit picking.

Overall, I'm thrilled to be an owner of a Jeep. Wind blowing in my hair rocks!

Without further ado, here are pics of the rig:

Thank you all for the kind welcome!! Well, today I'm going to degrease the entire engine, fix the play on my clutch pedal, and checkout the e-brake. It's just so freakin hot today.

I'm impressed by the picture quality of a point and shoot. Way to go!

Sweet ride. Same thing happened to my clutch. I had to put a new master cyl in too, fixed the problem.

As for the interior - did the previous owner have dust covers on it for the last 20 years? Looks great.

That thing is in very good shape for a 20 year old Jeep, and a nice project to work on.

We'll see how long she lasts. I'll definitely have a camera ready when I reach 300k. I'd love to put a LS1 with an auto. Expensive though. First things first, I want to repaint the Jeep. I've already got the paint picked out. Hopefully I can get started by the end of this month. I'll make sure to update!
