Those look pretty sweet. You could sew some pockets onto the back of the driver and passenger seat to store stuff in. Maybe they are there and I can't tell by the picture. You do some quality work, as it appears to fit like a glove.
Those are great and the fit from the pics is perfect. The pouch on the backs is a good idea since a Jeep is lacking in the storage areas. I want to see the set you are working on right now, the animal with the long neck.
Thanks guys and girls! There is a pocket on the back of each front seat... If you look at the last pic, they start at the widest part of the seatback and go to the bottom of the seat. They can be waterproofed with 303 Fabric Guard, but would have to be treated after each washing. My favorite thing about them other than that they don't scootch when you get in and out, is that they are really easy to put on and take off... I have to get access to some other models of Jeeps to be able to make them for seats other than the same ones my '01 has.... Anybody near by want to volunteer?
JD, right now they are taking about 3 days to make... Lots of tweaking of the patterns and fittings take time, plus, I still have housework etc, to do in between sewing time.. The ones I'm making now are all fleece and I'm trying to get a more realistic time frame for assembly times.
Thanks again y'all! That's the down side of being a creative type personality... I need lots of feedback!
Nice work IG . . . they look great and the fit looks much better than what you usually see. One more vote for starting to take orders . . . I bet there are more than a handful of Jeepers that would be interested. I'm thinking black or dark grey with red highlights for my black Jeep!!!
Bite the hand that feeds you . . . you've had more than enough to eat already.
All but the last ones are poly fleece with Sunbrella outdoor fabric for the insets. The latest are all fleece. It fits like a dream, nothing will hurt it, (well fire would be bad, I suppose )and it is fade resistant. It can be sprayed to make it waterproof, and is easily washable. I'm curious to see how hot the all fleece ones are. I was initially discouraged from making them with fleece inserts since hubby was convinced they'd be hot. But I decided to try them anyway.... (I'm bad like that..) It's supposed to get in the 90's this week and the humidity level is up, so I'll get a chance to find out how they work.
As soon as I can find someone willing to let me have access to their Jeep for a few days, I will get a pattern made for the '03-'06 TJ's, and then I will definitely let you know that I have it available. Thanks! I may just have to find some seats to buy, but then I'll just have to sell them... That's kinda my last resort.
