It began life as an 88 Ford F350 truck. Its not 113.5 wheelbase, 460, c6, 205, 5.13's with welded cases, hydro steering, 10pt NHRA cage, rear mounted radiator, 3 link front suspension with TJ coils, 1 link rear suspension with TJ coils...all handcrafted from the ground up.
Ok, I saw this thread as I was reading your SOA thread about the Sahara and I was wondering about the suspension on your truggy. Instead of using control arms and the like, you used your wishbone design to mount the axle to the frame? I've got an 06 TJ and though I lack your tools, and more importantly your expertise, I'm always looking for new ways to build it. How exactly did you mount that rear axle and do you think there'd be a way to do that with say a D60 and TJ?
By the way, your work is spectacular or maybe I should put this
I built one like this recently. But it was a 1/10 Axial Honcho.
You kids are probably saying to yourself, "Now, I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna get the world by the tail, and wrap it around and put it in my pocket!!" Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat!!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river!
This deserves to be seen again...bump...great job....I love that you do it all yourself...having a shop where I can do this has been a dream of mine for sometime...maybe when the kids are a little older
