A while back, Green Iguanas were becoming a nuisance...they were everywhere! Since they are herbivores, they were tearing up people's landscaping and gardens...but otherwise pretty harmless.
This one is a baby. They'll get up to a couple feet long.
Two winters ago we had a couple of cold snaps (relatively speaking for all you northern folks!
) that pretty much killed them off. It was trippy...there were literally dropping dead out of trees. A lot of them fell into canals and got washed out to the ocean...I would be fishing a couple miles out and see them floating around out there!
Looks like they are coming back again.
