More like hungry, little critter eats a lot, but it's just like any growing body, needs nutrition.

Is it even legal?

Are raccoons prone to rabies?

You need a permit, in Illinois at least. And you could get it treated. I have a friend who has a pet deer

I have an area in my backyard built for the ferrets to free roam without worries. It's a huge area, i couldn't keep them inside. But I did research and it's legal to have one in the state of FL, but i need to get a permit from FWC for class 3 animals. Although the ferrets have been taking care of the baby coon so far, so i'm pleased with the outcome! Once it grows teeth, i'm going to take it to the vet and get it all it's vaccinations and whatever it needs.

Those claws on those things are crazy. Although it would be neat to have a trained one

I'd name her Trouble. When I managed apartments in Lakeland, I had a resident who had one as a pet. It was leash trained and used a litter box. Very cool pet. Only advice that I offer is to hide the shiny stuff. They are usually named Bandit for a reason and it isn't the mask.

I wouldn't sweat the claws, It's the teeth, when they come in, that are the worst. I had a full size pet racoon at one time and not only are they very strong but when I would feed it apricots, he would eat all of the fruit from the pits first then he would eat the pits and he was able to crush the pits to small pieces, it was then that I decided to keep my hands a long ways away from his teeth.
