Great looking top. I have been playing with the idea of investing in a Trektop NX for my JKU, I would definitely go for this top. Looks very versatile and well made. Great Job Squint!

I just found this yesterday. Is there any thought, prices, of selling this? I love the way it looks also. I have a red 2006 LJ Rubicon that I would put that on!

Unfortunately, no decision yet on pricing. The top is getting much closer to production ready though. An announcement is due January/Feb about availability and price if all goes as planned. The original design has changed slightly however it does still have the classic look of version 1. Honestly, I am not sure they are expected to fly off the shelves since the Jeep community has come to expect pricing based on plastic and thin aluminum parts along with inexpensive overseas labor, all of which this top is the antithesis. After driving it around for a year, I have to say that I still absolutely love this top and look forward to seeing a few more on the road. I really appreciate all the great comments

One of the best threads i have read on here so far. The top looks amazing great work. It would be very useful to somebody that uses their Jeep for stuff like hunting/fishing due to the easy access and raised room overhead to mount gun/fishing rod racks. Netting would be awesome on the sides and back to prevent tree branches from scratching the plastic windows if a guy needed to keep his dog in or something. I could see buying something like this if it were production myself.

Nice, very nice!
I like the military look it gives the jeep.
Kudos on the design.

Can't wait for the announcement. Already started saving and am prepared to offer left leg and firstborn.

Sorry, I ran into another snag, but still getting closer. I was hoping to announce pricing a few months ago but some of the changes caused issues that need be resolved. I promise I am still working on it. I need to get some of these out on the road soon to offset some of the costs of development however, if they are not working right, people will be disappointed in the product. Balancing cost of production with everything I want in the top is difficult, but it will happen.

I really appreciate the interest and encouragement.

Would it help dev costs if some of us partial pre-paid? I know the full price isn't released, but if you have a ballpark I would consider putting up to 50% down?

I really appreciate the offer and creative thinking, but money is not really the issue. The costs have been paid for already, it would just be nice to get some of that back. Besides, I would feel terribly guilty taking your hard earned money and hanging onto it for some unforseen amount of time without a product ready to ship. I love the fact that you have faith in my work and what I am building and I thank you for that.

Looks like this is a crazy old thread, but I thought it was worth a shot to see if anything ever came of this great looking top!

WOW!! Absolutely amazing!!! You sir, are an artisan! I've sewn vinyl and webbing on industrial machines for customized wheelchair seating for years and I would never attempt what you've done! Not to mention the metal framework. Kudos!

Not too old. . This is still being worked on. Parts of it are production ready. The original design was very functional but extremely expensive and difficult to reproduce, hence all the changes. I still can't give a date or pricing yet, but hopefully soon.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with this soft top, but it has the same type of rear windows/look so I can see where you might think that. It's a nice top for sure.

That thing is awesome, I would love to buy one or build something similar myself in the future. To be fair though jeep soft tops arent junk. My couch is junk and my mattress is junk but the soft top on my jeep cost more then either and is of very good quality.

My wife came up with an idea. She said when will we see him on the TV reality show Shark Tank? I think that would be a wonderful idea.

Yes, a few friends/neighbors have mentioned that to me as well. I love that show and watch it all the time. Part of the problem is that you usually have to show a history of sales before they will take you seriously. Also, I am not sure that any of them have that type of manufacturing on their resumes so they would probably say "cool product but I know nothing about this industry so I am out". I have done lots of research so I know my options and am working with some intelligent folks so hopefully this thing will come together. I might post a pic of the proto on the TJ soon. I honestly did not have high expectations for the TJ since it does not have that long wagon type look that would go with this type of box-style top but it turned out fantastic. It's my wife's TJ and she goes out and stares at it often because she loves the look so much.
