Haha thanks man, just doing work!

Where to start.. Today I got hosed by my own powder coater! wtf. it was every bit of a ball dropping snowball never gonna get what i wanted out of this dude kind of day/week. I don't want to go into details let alone bash the dude.. But for the record, I got hosed ..

I got my rear end back today.. Not sandblasted, not epoxy primed and not epoxied black. Instead this is what was shown up to my door 2 weeks later. Red, and painted over all the impurities.. GRRRR So if you see a red tint in these next few pictures look past it. please? haha

changed out the brakes, lines, and cylinders on it before install, also spray baumed (in dark) Krylon Gloss.

Triangulated 4 link looks so0o0o sick.. I'm pretty sure i laid under the Jeep for a good 10 min just looking at it!

New list of things to asses....1) Need longer rear drive shaft. 2) need shorter rear shocks. 3) need new e-brake cables for rear. (DriverDown if you don't use mine let me know) 4) Positioning of Brake lines. 5) heat and bend exhaust away from front drive shaft. 6) steering dampener. 7) another coat of paint to cover red and finger prints.

In these pictures you can agree that all of these need to be addressed lol. Most likely in that order

Tightened up some loose ends on it this afternoon. Steering stabilizer on it. Ran some brake lines (I am the worst brake line bender with or without a tool) and pulled it out of the garage. It actually fit haha was surprised. Didn't even have to air down to clear. Looks like I'll be parking it in the garage when I have the top down!

Taking it to exhaust shop in the AM so I loaded it on the trailer tonight.

Quiz in Thermo tomorrow morning. joy..

thanks man!

Lucky for me I will have my actual 37" running Toyos under it after our trip to MOAB Easter Jeep Safari!!! So for now I'm just gonna mall craw and do some mild FL wheeling haha nothing to jeopardize the "pressure limits" just yet.

And thanks guys for the thumbs up, seeing cool feedback makes me realize that Im not the only one reading this thing haha

Mentioned a few post back remember, these tires aren't my 'stick with tire' they just came on the rims I needed for the new Lug pattern. 37's will be whats ran in a few weeks. also cromo shafts are coming for sure. no question there. I don't want this to happen again on a trail..

Here's a comparison in size from 35" on the JK to a 42" on a TJ

On another note. I ordered in another 1.5" X 40' cush pad for the counters.. Out with the old and in with the new.. So I split the mat with another worker and made good use of this in the now CLEAN garage. In cleaning the garage I rounded up a few old parts that have been taken off the jeep.. .. Any one need anything? haha I'm gonna CL most of it I guess...

Getting exhaust work done today. I have a horrific story about my experience at the dealership on warranty work they were to do. Before you laugh and post about dealers I already know what and why you are thinking what you are thinking. On my phone wasting time waiting for exhaust. I will have story time later tonight

Nice build!... please tell me your conversation with the service manager at the dealership started out with "What do you mean it's not stock!!"... haha, anyway, hope everything is going well. Have you had a chance to drive it yet for any distance? I was wondering how the steering feels w/o any aftermarket hydro-assist set up?

Let me first state this: I have worked in a shop for over 4 years. I’m no dummy when it comes to vehicles. But if I can’t get something to work for the life of me, I will take it somewhere who can.

With that said… Took the Jeep to the dealership Friday to get the brakes checked out. I had no pedal what so ever. All new brakes, everything. Lines, it was all redone. 4 months ago I put a booster and master on it. Well I took it to Jax Jeep Dodge to have it “diagnosed” I loaded it back up onto the trailer and dropped it off to them. 45min later the guy calls me and said “its your booster and master that are bad” Now I know they didn’t bring it into the shop and put it on a lift and check EVERYTHING out on it. In 45min .. I said “I just replaced that” needless to say I got a lil run around so I said to fix the brakes and get it done, I want them to work if that’s what it takes. 6 days later I get the phone call..” parts are in and the tech is bleeding it now should be done in a few.” (3:00pm).. I showed up at 6:00PM to pick it up, and he was still bleeding it!!!! Wtf.. If you bleed brakes in 30min and you STILL have NO pedal.. Something else is wrong!!!!! This means a FALSE diagnostic to begin with! My booster and master were fine!.... anyways the brake pedal goes to the floor, stops, but all the way at the floor. Sketch I know. They charged me 1000$ for parts and labor that I didn’t even need. And I’m in the same place I was a week ago.. NO BRAKES!! I went to talk to the supervisor but it was so late no1 was there. Needless to say I’m fighting for my 1000$ back.. Or ATLEAST the 650$ I’m out in just parts I didn’t need… I take it to the pros.. and I get this… I know its aftermarket.. but they “know it all”…

Needless to say I know what’s wrong. Not that I’m looking into things. I bought a BIGGER master cylinder from a 00 Dodge 3500 for the bigger cylinder bore to compensate for the larger calipers. I should have thought about this before but my mind had been racing at 10000000 miles an hr with everything else. I got so fed up with not having brakes I did the unthinkable and sent it to the dealer.
I’m sure many of you are laughing calling me a moron, and will probably stop reading this build after this one.. but things happen.
So root for me in my fight of the Service Manager Tomorrow and Sat.. cause I’m gonna need it.

J,
What about your propotioning valve? I am guessing no brake juice puddles under the rig. Also what about the vent block in the rear??? Check the lines you made for it...You did say you suck at bending them...Also I would ping the guy from Vanco who is on here and see what he says....Last resort convert that B1$%# to discs and call it a day.......
Just my 2 pennies........

DD, yeah the PV is operating as it should. Brake lights on because it's "sences" no front brakes due to the larger piston calipers in the front. More pedal is needed. But because there is too much it thinks there are no front brakes. Therefor routing me only rear brakes at the moment. Atleast what I have looked into and IMO.

Lol funny you mentioned the lines in the rear. I checked them seeing if I kinked one and I didnt. Also you are correct I have no leaks anywhere in the system.

Bought the Dodge MC today tomorrow morning the booster comes in, should have it squared away in the am before work, look for it on Beach if u drive past haha

Post pics soon of the differences.

You may need an adjustable valve to add more for the fronts ans lessen the rear.

So0o0o I finally drove me jeep today! A customer came into work today that I always deal with and when i mentioned my 8.8 he said he has a disc brake conversion set up for 1 I can get off of him. Which means I have to get a new PV anyways when I go that rout. lol The bigger MC worked great, after I adjusted the stock PV it bleed nicely and I have pedal, good pedal

I have fought the good fight, If there is 1 thing I have learned from my father, its to fight for what is right. After countless phone calls and the run around I finally spoke to the right higher up and got some sort of compensation. They told me to eat the labor and i can get my money back for parts.. but because there used ans restocking fee yada yada they will give me 520$ back when I give them their parts. I am NOT pleased with this one bit. not at all. Unfortunately there is only so much i can do as 1 person. So i went ahead and talked to a friend of mine at the better business bureau.. This should spark a flame somewhere. but that is where I'm at on that topic

Fixed a few problems as stated previously..

Ordered shorter shocks for the rear Rancho 9000XL's adjustable

Also a rancho steering dampener

Exhaust is complete and ran, also bent away from front drive shaft

Bump stops are in

Vent hoses ran

New Rollbar net top

adjusted pinion angle (Too far forward tho.. have to extend all 4 rear arms to recenter axle)

Brakes are FIXED by MYSELF and work GREAT!!

There are things i need to still address but I'm trying to put miles on it and break everything in so i can get a fell for the ride. Took it 40 miles on the highway today. Steers quite well with the 42's, no pulls or drags. rubs in rear on compression, 3000RPM at 70ish MPH.. not too bad.

I swapped MC's and a new booster that I purchased through work and the brakes are great, everything worked according to plan. All that was needed was the pushrod in the Booster to be extended about an inch and the proportioning valve bracken to be ground down to fit the bigger bore MC and everything else was just bolt up and bleed :2thumbsup:

Congrats on getting it fixed.....Are you going to swap over to the discs? It is a tad bit of a PITA to do it but I actually like having the discs in the back over the drums. Looking forward to seeing it in action at the poker run.

Thanks, I think I'm gona do it but a little down the road. After tackling such a big project already I just wanna drive it. Haha. Sucky thing about the 42"s is they rub in rear pretty easily and I dunno how much "wheeling" I can do until I can get my 37"s under it it's a mall crawler with these massive meats till I get them, kinda sucks! But rub or not I'll be at the Poker Run!

Got a drop off from a customer at work today. A whole kit to swap for the disc brake conversion in the rear! calipers, plates, rotors, lines, e brakes, and even shafts, for FREE! Gotta love customer appreciation, one hand washes the other IMO. Just gotta buy an adjustable proportioning valve

Also tested to make sure I fit in the parking garage at school, score! At least with the top down I do!

Things that need to still be addressed:

Rear shocks still too long, need to reorder a better length, not enough room on compression

E-Brake cables set and adjusted

Re-tighten EVERYTHING, check double check and recheck all lines and harware.

Alignment (may wait till i get new tires for this one tho)

Order in Bombshell diff covers form PSC

Longer rear Driveshaft

Small Trans leak by shift lock

Measure out a permanent Cromo Steering set up and fabricate

Research for a new muffler

Orlando was pretty sweet. Huge turn out for Orlando Jeep Club and 4WheelParts. The Jeep did fantastic on the highway. I do feel vibration in the rear driveshaft, could be worn tires but feels more like a driveshaft vibe. at 70mph I run 2800RPM not too bad for a 42" tire. Just a few days till the poker run and I'm slammed with things to do. Its spring break and I'm off school tho.. so that helps!

Also getting my Axial ready for MOAB. Kha and I doing a preliminary run lol. Pretty sure the Poison Spyder Venom Chassis graphics says it all

Wow what a past few weeks. Just got done with spring break at UNF and 2 different shows in FL. busy busy busy. shocks fixed, new e-brakes on there way, and oil change done. Just a little goes a long way. I put on the smittybuilt rolbar net on about a week ago. I was and am no fan of smittybuilt but I gave them one last shot....After my garage door string caught one of the squares and ripped it.. It was official, I hate SB. They just can't make good quality product. I'm sorry if i offend anyone by it but they just down right suck.

I've got one of their nets and have hung it up on a few tree limbs while out on the trail and thankfully mine held up just fine. But I was lucky because I noticed it before I kept driving and was able to get out and pull the limb out of the square.

Yeah its just not a tough design, not made to withstand abuse, or use for that matter haha. You really have to watch everything you do to make sure you don't rip it apart

Trying to get everything together for Moab as well as tighten up all my loose ends at school before I leave. Was really surprised that my professors were cool with me leaving.. maybe its cause I told them it was work related, and work funds my education.. which is true, but 'work' and 'doin work!' are two different things.. o well they don't need to know the details. haha

still working on getting a 50" E-brake cable to mod up from the conversion. I cam make a 60" work, but its a little too long even at full flex. I just have to FIND the 50".. least what will for for my application without modifying, a lot. lol, other then that I'm still hitting the exhaust on compression with the front drive shaft, gonna have to heat up more and move closer to oil pan. Jeep Beach is just around the corner after Easter Jeep Safari, so there may be some heavy mods coming my way. we shall see.

The Matanzas Jeep Club Poker Run was awesome, good friends and good times. Its always nice seeing the people that give you the most support, glad we were able to be apart and help out with the raffles in in throwing in what we could.

As I mentioned before on how bad the smittybuilt top was i don't even have a picture of it close up on it, it was on for 2 days, and went right back in the box. You can see how it tore easily and how thin it is. DO NOT BUY! IMO at least. waste of money.. I returned it to keystone today for full refund.

Been playing with the Axial RC too now that Moab is approaching, have to get it ready for the competitions with Kha, BigJay, and the boys.. gonna get intense!! Just ordered aluminum hubs and knuckled as well as aired down the front tires with a new set of aluminum beadlocks! muuuuuch better on approach being so torquie.

Somewhere between the mix I helped SuttonBorn put on his PSC Flat Fenders. came out pretty nice, the brown one got a 2" budget boost lift haha just been cranking out projects here i guess

Also finally got my designs together for some 3D Modeling i've been waiting on, came out great too i was pretty skeptical on the design but after 2 trial runs they came out flawless!

Man what a trip! EJS was soo0o0o0o0 sick. Getting to see the west coast Spyder family was awesome. also getting to meet Jeremy and Justin at Rock Krawler was great. ITs cool seeing the people behind the product. Met a ton of good people and made good friends. I can't say I regret missing 13 days of school and work for that trip

Now its back to reality tho haha, school is coming to a close! 1 week left from tomorrow, then Jeep Beach in Daytona in 2 weeks. Just ordered my cromo steering setup for the TJ, should be done tomorrow afternoon. Also selling my spare tire rack, its a Smittybuilt.. Finally putting on the Poison Spyder Rear Bumper W/ Tire Carrier
Jeep Wrangler TJ-YJ-CJ Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier | TJ-YJ-CJ RockBrawler Rear Bumper | Poison Spyder Customs

Finished a little trimming of the rear fenders too, just as a precaution for flex with the 42's. FINALLY found a E-Brake cable that will work with the 8.8 to the TJ( maybe it was just me who found this hard to find? I dunno) its part number "BC93528" for future reference. Should have pictures of it tomorrow, it got late and I was starving haha.

Took 2 tests today and had the day off work so I decided to take the jeep out to play a little bit. haven't really had the chance to with everything piling up. Heres just a few shots over some culverts in Jax, nothing great, but better then nothing. You can see where I Rub on rear fender. Hopefully when i down grade tire size that won't be a problem any longer. Also didn't have to lock the hubs once today gotta love lockers and 4.88! The second to last picture.. That oil spot isn't from me!

Thank God the school semester at UNF is over! wootwoot! Jeep beach is right around the bend, got so much stuff to finish up for it. Heres my list. ADD mounting a Spare tire too

Also here is a look at the difference in the length of my old cables in the rear vs. the new ones i finally got to work for the E-brakes.

Also got my new muffler from Magnaflow today! Thanks Jim!

Going with a 6" tube rather then the 4" i have complained about previously being too loud. Jim took care of me in setting me up with what hes running on his LJ with a 5.5 X Factor Long Arm from Rock Krawler, sweet rig! Also picked these up for Damon from Rigid Industries for Jeep Beach, got them for his Rigid F350 Chaser Truck.

Seems like im doing a ton of running around lately with parts and product. Man am I glad school is out!

Tomorrow I'm getting the muffler put in, and my Rear BrawlerBumper from Poison Spyder should be in at the powder coaters place. Also the cromo steering is still not here but a busy few days. Last time I took the Jeep for a spin in the woods she got a lil hot on me. Think I'm only runnin straight h20 in radiator, gotta check it out, but picked these up anyways. (Bumba de agua?) Taking off my KC's for Rigids!!!!! finally!

Today was the commence of hardcore fix up on the TJ. Started by turning in my last final exam at 10AM!!!! wootwoot! Got the Spare tire mounted on my 5th rim. Tim at North Florida Off Road let me borrow it for the time being. It's a 37BFG, hmm this a sign? :shhh: It barly fit in the Isusu tho fit like a glove.

RCPC got my Spyder Packages. I'm only spraying it semi-gloss black. no time to fool around with matching pices to paint code. looks sharp. the side by side shot is my Poison Spyder BrawlerBumper next to my buddies JK Ace? bumper? I LOVE the sleekness of mine. Finally say goodbye to the old SB XRC, sold it to a buddy tonight. RCPC said should have the PSC bumper finished tomorrow.. fingers crossed

So0o0 only got 1 steering bar today, the center link... no drag bar called, said for tomorrow.. they better be right, ha knuckles are drilled.. no turning back now! 3/4 drill bit did the trick for the new heim set up. somehow i didn't get a pic of the cromo CL ( i dunno how i didn't) but turned out sharp, i think at least. finished both the E-brake cables tonight too.

Even got the new Magnaflow Muffler installed today. What a difference! I know previously i said i hated the way it sounded and I wasn't pleased at all, well i can say this time i am 100% satisfiedJim did a awesome job at helping me out on the size and part number to run.

Drained coolant some and it was just about all water, nasty color and just about no ANti freez. Hopefully that will solve my overheating issue. Fan clutch is tight as can be and the radiator is bout a year old. (bomba de agua? yo no se)
Axial is in prep to match the TJ haha gotta have a Mini Me!
