That ranger was up in Yuley.. pretty quiet out there not a busy place. nice to take a first timer she loved it. no ranger there for pistols there tho. I with i still had my Desert Eagle :(

Thoughts on tire sizes?

40X14.5X17 BFG MT????
or
39X13.5X17 BFG MT????

#122 ·
Skeet shooting with handguns sound much funner to me.......LOL

I would go with the 39's.....You will get a bit more stuffin room with them and not have to do too much armor and fender mods by going with the shorter tire.

Was a good day @ Vilano yesterday..Water was nice and no rip until about 3...You will have to check out my page later for this lil Britney looker who was in front of us....I CHEE WOWA!!!!!!! Oh and some of the other freaks who were out there...Even had our very own Vilano Shores types.......

What size did you decide on??????

still not posting tires and rims i got tho. sorry guys. you will just have to wait till installed. I would install them now but I don't have the time or the money, Rims are sitting at the powdercoater now to get the... well to get powdercoated :) nothing new to the jeep tho least for now

got to help build my buddies jeep tho went with a 3.5 Max Travel Mid Arm Lift Kit from Rock Krawler Suspension, 5100 Series Bilsteins, Moto Metal 18's and 37" KM2's... sucker looks mean! Looks great with the Poison Spyder Flat Fenders too.

in taking it out with a few buds wheelin was a good time. no one broke down or gut hurt. we had a tropical storm roll through here in FL so what better night to wheel right? I did bust my steering stabilizer tho from the zerk fitting from the pitman arm, came down too hard on the last culvert.. no biggy tho.. nothing a warranty return at the store cant fix!

I cant tell but if you had a chance to put some rain-x on the windshield it would help greatly! Sick Jeep by the way! :wavey:

#130 ·
Sad thing is.. I did rain-x it before all the rain to help! haha guess I should have used more cause all the silicon spray was long gone by mid week!

Now its just 1000 degrees outside here.

In the mist of me hanging around to post the tire and wheel pictures. I've been thinking about going fuel cell. Rock Krawler 8" stretch with front 2-5/8 Coil overs and the Poison Spyder Comp Cuts but with a custom 3" Defender wrap on the Rear Corners. Now that I have a projected wheel and tire combo, I want wheelbase... Well.. I've always wanted wheel base. haha just a thought, any suggestions? I'm thinking RCI fuel cell, but just been looking over reviews and seeing what my buddy went with. I want to keep the Rear seat in the back as well.

So on the way to my brothers house on the 4th I heard a noise on 95 driving from Jax to Daytona.. as i turned off the radio I heard a sound.. The sound that you never wanna hear while driving 70mph. Luckily I was right at an exit and turned off to check it out.. sure enough I blew a Axle U-Joint. Sure quick fix right.. thinking "silly me left a hub locked and i just need to release it" unfortunately both hobs were disengaged but the internals were engaged to the stubs. So0o0 I had my buddy come out with some tools and we assessed the situation. Removed drive shaft as well as the hubs. Not what I wanted to do when headed to a BBQ that I never made it to cause I was late to begin with.. fml..

so I decided on Mile Marker Hubs vs the Warns. Figured I'd give them a shot. also went to Fl PowerTrain and picked up a new axle stub, Spicer joint, and Spindle seals and bearings.. Its a tight fit in the garage too

Got the spare tire on today and tightened up a few things on the jeep. Also went out with a few club members to enjoy the evening with some grub too. good relaxin night. vs everything that is about to come up the next 3 weeks

Its been one crazo week. So Now that I got the Jeep all squared away I thought my troubles were over right? WRONG!! So I went to Khas to pick up the 10x20 for the Matanzas show and shine yesterday (Saturday) and on the way back the Isuzu blew a rod right through the side of the block? Now the Jeep is my DD, I use the Isuzu for parts/haul/ease of access.. but nowwwwww lol its a paper weight at the complex :( found a motor assembly complete and running for 600 bucks. think im gonna snag it and put it in after the All Breed show this week in York, PA. Was like throwing a turd in the punch bowl when it blew. man did I not need that to happen. Fortunately there are a few guys at the store that come in that work as wreckers and for 100$ I got back home. (125 miles round trip) not bad at all if you ask me.

Other then that tho I made it home. Yesterdays event was pack with people in the booth as well as supporters of the organization! Had the TJ in the booth as well as the JK to help sport the options! Dan from Wilsons 4x4 was parked next to us so it lead to a great time. His 52 Jeep CJ was off the hook, looked awesome and ran pristine.

We leave Thursday for York PA, should be an awesome weekend with the boys form Rock Krawler as well as our friends in the industry!

#136 ·
Been on heck of a week since the SnS from Matanzas. Been gearing up for PA and the All Breed show out there. Gonna be a Killer time! Been runnin around like crazo tho squaring things up for it. Some side work on a Caviler for some folding cash and tightening up the Axial for the show. Not taking my Jeep this time. But maybe to Bantam in a few weeks I'm not sure. Also got in my Trans pan for the TJ wanted to flush the system but didn't want to have to put the stock pan back on there with no drain plug. so I bought the Skyjacker Deep Sump Rock Ready pan for it (also hold another extra quart of trans fluid). Was the only one I could really find for the 3speed with a lock up auto. I'll install it after PA tho, no need to mess with it now. If your in the PA York area come on out!!

#137 ·
What a weekend out in York PA with some GREAT people. Good to see a few faces fro the forum too. Always a good to put names to faces and meet people in the jeep world! heres just a few pics I snagged from the show! Was a tight fit in the mega cab with all of our product and all of the Axials! Even made a pit stop in VA to a hobby store to pick up some goods!

#138 ·
Got some more goods for the TJ too. Went with Rock Krawlers 12" travel 2.625 RR Coil Overs for the front. Also grabbed Poison Spyder Customs 50" Light Bar Bracket for the SR-Rigid Industries 50" LED light bar. Gotta weld tabs for the dually D2's at the bottom of them tho. so started fabbing a little bit. My welder took a poop so I gotta wait till I can use the schools or my buddies :(

#139 ·
So Got some time off finally so decided to work on the TJ. I moded 2 lower light brackets for the A-pillar 50" Rigid SR-series light bar to where I can still run my D2's. also now that I'm going to coil overs I'm putting in a rear swaybar setup.. Using exhaust clamp and just the studs to make it work like a dream! Not gonna lie... Justin gave me the idea to use them :shhh:

#140 ·
So last night after work I picked up the brackets for the light bar and D2's and started the install. No sooner after I get a phone call my friends Scion was in an accident and her car was shoved into a sandy median and was stuck.. my other buddy went to get her out but was only a 2wd Yoda and HE got stuck haha. so I quickly wired everything up and went to be a Toyoda Recovery Vehicle for the night

DD I was gonna install the sway bar but after a guy called out today and I had to work open to close.. I reconsidered :( But you will SOON see it!

#141 ·
heres some updated pictures of the rear swaybar installed as well as the tranny pan from skyjacker installed.
Tranny pan wasn't hard. but not having a drain plug on the factory one mad it a messy job. and my fluid was way over due for a change :( but needless to say its changed now! I'm going to install a Derale cooler soon but I don't know exactly when.. maybe when funds get back together

#142 ·
The new pan will hold 1.5-2 more quarts of fluid. I used a total of 5qt on a refill of ATF+4 full synthetic and it put it right at the mark. Pretty sweet if you ask me. I just hit 110k miles on it :( bought it when around 60 or 70k miles a year and a half ago.

Wanted to post up some pictures from last weekends Orlando Truckfest. I was thrilled to have my Jeep showcased in BF Goodrich's booth all weekend. Great guys and had a blast while I was there!

And yes... Those are a set of BFG Krawlers on the Axial :cheers2:

Got the hood louver from Poison Spyder the other day. Took a whole 2 hours to instal from start to finish they gave me a template to use. I didn't use it. haha

Unbolted the hood from the truck....laid the Louver on top and lined it up, used a marker to mare where the louver fins were to get a line drawn up...
Louver weighs about 10-13 lbs? I think.

Used a cut off wheel and cut about 1/4 to the inside of the marks that were made and compared tot he template i was under about 1/4 inch too.
honestly, I started out doing it really nice and sharp, until I realized my buddy borrowed tools from the garage and didn't tell me. So i had to improvise with my electric drill [not charged] and old drill bits (Side note: If you borrow my tools tell me what you borrow, and return within 48 hours. I think I have just as much money in tools as I do in Jeep parts. )
Vent Done :D
after cuttin out the slots replace the louver back to the hood so I could drill the holes for the SS bolts that surround the louver.
The instructions say mark all the holes and then drill and then bolt it up..
naaaaa.. Ive talked to a few others that did it a lil differently and so I went a diff route..
drill 5 holes, place and slowly tighten 5 holes.. starting in the top right corner working around the the top left corner.

WALA! looks awesome and was still done in a timely fashion

Also had some strife with UNF on there new parking permit guidlines. They started with "hang tag" parking passes which were awesome, specially if you had 2 vehicles.. then they went to a windshield sticker decal last year that was really stupid. now they want it on the back bumper or rear window.. We all know that neither one of those are gonna happen so I had to come up with something. so0o0o0

I took a tag bracket from a CJ7 and cut it just the size of the decal. also used a piece of my hood I cut out to adhease the decal to before putting it on the tag bracket. once I did some cutting and painting I drilled holes to pop rivet everything together. now I'll stop right here before you say Im retarded (yes at times I have loose screws in my head.. but that's besides the point) I tried placing the pop rivets in places where it wouldn't obstruct the decal in any way. That is why there is no symmetric shape or fashion to them. And even doing it this way.. I still screwed it up

Needless to say it worked still and looks like Im in the clear. well, we will see tomorrow, UNF's fall semester starts the 20th.

Blew out the rear shocks about 3 weeks ago. finally had time to replace them. Its sad to say iv been that busy too. School is back in session and it blows haha. 8 more months and I graduate! Skipped class Friday tho and went to the lake.

Problems to assess on Jeep:

Rear brakes hung up
Convert to rear disk finally
E-fan in front of coolers for down time on the trail
ball joints ( tires sit like this \---/ ) well not that bad but just a little.
new hubs with rotors and races/bearings
steering stabilizer
Drag link DOM bent last weekend.
Rear bumper brackets.
steering brace.
longer steer braided brake lines for front abt 3-4" longer for max droop.

Also got some goodies to test out from Rigid Industries! the boat and 4 wheeler are gettin some RI love!

#147 ·
so Ive been MIA for a while. UNF has got me all wrapped up in this semester as well with work. haven't had much time to sit down and browse throught the fourms.. I gave the wheeler some Rigid Indistries love and installed 2 Duallys behind the front frame mount. so0o0o bright! a must have.

Driverdown87 at the last event said to me "has your tires always bowed out like that?" in looking into this.. i had ripped apart my upper ball joints on both sides. BOo0o! so ended up replacing all 4 with MOOG's a much tighter feel as well as no more tire deflection:D I have been working a crap load of hours. so I picked up my 'beginners' Tow Rigits a 2000 2500 4x4 with a 6.0 vortec motor. runs like a dream, and you wouldn't believe the price if I told you what I payed for it haha

#149 ·
