Post the Other Vehicles YOU built.

Post the Other Vehicles YOU built.

Anyone can buy a car built or pay someone to do it for them. <<---- no real pride there.

Muscle cars, 4x4's, hotrods, street trucks, whatever.

So lets see them ....

Interesting thread. You didn't post any pictures though.

I built this truck. It had a 305 in it. Tossed a rod and swapped in a 454ss power plant. Fastest time was 11.687 on the juice with slicks after replacing 4 or 5 busted 10 bolt shafts. and eventually getting a big bearing 9".

Next to it is my 93 Honda prelude. I used it for SCCA. I swapped the H23/Auto combo for the H22/manual. Dropped 2" on ground control coil overs and eibach springs. This was a very fun car to drive.

I have modified other vehicles but lost the pictures in a HD failure.

93 ranger STX, 4''lift 32's locked rear, Oh and cool factory purple stickers.

79 chevy, started life when I got it as a factory 2wd. Elderbrok crate 350/350, np205 swap in and SAS swap.

67 firebird, wide block 350, oringally had factory straight 6, munci 4speed, posi rear with 4.10's. I miss this car too much.

70 el cameo, don't want to write all the junk done to it... Me and my brother built if for our mother. 4 year build .It was finish over 4 years ago.... SHE still has not drove it.
Only car to scare the living ShLT out of me. 1/4 time.... still unknown. Could not keep the nose down or the tires from spining. It was taken down the track at St. Louis only twice. Once buy myself and then my brother.

And several more. My step father owns a small resto shop.

Unfortunately, I had an unreasoning fear of cameras when I was younger so there's very little photographic evidence of my misspent youth.
I regret that more and more as the years go by, especially now that I have kids.

This is the second Baja Bug I built. Pretty basic and quite a ways from being finished in this pic. The first one I built was put together in a week out of spare parts I was able to scrounge from my fathers "the pile". Shocked the living shit out of him when it actually started and drove. I was 10.

The first real rail I built. Again from scavanged parts. The frame was one I'd found rusting away behind a guys garage walking home from school. The paddle tires were a set a guy was throwing away because they were so old they no longer held air. A quick trip to the tractor supply shop got me a set of inner tubes that made em last another 3 seasons.
The drive train was salvaged from the ole mans "the pile" cobbled together with spare parts and cheap deals from the local desert group. The biggest expense was the counter weighted crank and the machine work to fit a set of 94mm jugs. All in all I doubt I had more than $500 in the beast and she ran like a striped ass ape.

Of coarse, i had to tear the whole damn thing apart and re-weld joints and add braces and such just about everytime we went out. The chassis was never really designed for the amount of time I spent in the air and it was older than I was.

This is the last rail I built, Fibertech chassis kit. Close ratio beefed up gear box. Built 1915cc engine. Mickey Thompson paddles on Mitchel wheels. aluminum front beam. Cutting brakes and all minds of other crap I've forgotten.
This one would stand on end through three gears

there's a number of Baja's, rails, a bike and a few trucks I built over the years that for some reason or another I never photographed or didn't keep the pictures.

Rails are fun. We use to have one back when I was a youngin on the farm. Had a great time running up and down the creeks and woods.

I've built tons... Here's one of the pics I found...

This is my '63. When I bought it I had to literally cut a tree away from the front bumper... Replaced just about every piece of metal on the car. I also did all the prep work and painting, rebuilt the original flat four...

When I find more I'll post up.

All of my old project vehicles were built before the invention of the digital camera. I'll see if I can dig up some pics next time I'm at my parents' house and get them scanned into my computer to post them.....

My main hobby is building cars to race the 1/4 mile at the track. Here are a few that I have.

My 1990 TSI awd (still has 74k original miles on it and is parked in my garage)

My 1992 awd Laser on the rt (registered and street driven but mostly a track car.)

And lastly my 1993 Civic Si which is my zippy econobox.

God I need a bigger driveway!

Probably need to define "built". There a difference between modifying and building, but I'm guess this thread is going toward both so here goes.

I've played with a few cars.:

2004 Subaru WRX STI:

Put a ton of time and money into this car. It was a blast. Put down over 400awhp, and could easily run high 11's.

Then I switched camps and tried playing with a 2006 Mitsubishi Evo:

This car was fun as well, but I just shouldn't have bought a black car. I'm way to anal so it did more sitting than driving. I sold it to get out of the payment. Made well over 450awhp and could easily run low 11s possibly high 10s with right driver.

New toys:

2008 Honda CBR1000RR:

I've been playing with this recently. Running power commander, slip on, sliders, and some other dress up goodies.

00 Red TJ: I bought from MR. CLIFFORD. Still trying to figure out what I want for front bumper and winch. Then I'll go from there.

Simple.....you did it. If you paid someone to do it or bolt it on....THIS IS NOT the thread for that. As Stated in the first post vehicle you built. Not what you payed to have done for you.

Modifying in a way is building a vehicle to your likings or needs.

SO both. But you have to of done it. Not a shop.

Sounds good to me. I only do my own work, or with the help of friends. No shop help here.

My buddy Cory's truck. Started out stock...

1999 Ford F-250 PowerJoke Diesel
7.3ltr/auto trans

After we blew the engine and trans, we swapped in the new ones and then installed an 8" lift and 42" TSLs.

We were in a mudhole with the speedo pinned, and we weren't moving lol

Then we decided to use it as our towing vehicle and towed his Porsche 944 all the way to the Canadian border, some 500+ miles; we averaged 4mpg with his biodiesel.
