Very good man I'm curious what would score better: a rig w/ small tires and plenty of space to flex or a rig w/ bigger tires and less space to flex? For example a rig with 5" of lift and 33s and smaller bump stops vs a rig with 5" of lift and 35s and extended bump stops..

The important thing is ground clearance. Care to guess how you get more ground clearance?

well big tires is more ground clearance but you then loose flex so both ways you "can't win"..

How do you lose flex? How far up into the fender wells do you want to go?

Yep.. bigger tires need more clearance in the fender wells.. Perhaps a huge 4" body lift would do the job, so i can stack another 2" bodylift of the 2" body lift i already have now and then stack the 2 tcase brackets and then stack the other tcase linkage bracket (from the tcase drop kit) on top off that and also stack the radiator drop brackets and the steering brackets on top of the other spacers..

I'm hoping to make a trip out of the house tomorrow to the local stomping grounds. But I need to get under it with the grease gun again.

There was one of those in the dealership when i bought mine.. It had bright golden colored stickers that said "wrangler" on the hood. It looked like a good color cambo.

Flex is not about Up Travel. It's all about down travel. There are numerous ways to limit your up travel. So no bigger tires don't need more room in the wheel wells to flex more. And ramp scores don't mean anything for testing flex either. I can score 1100 plus on a ramp and on some I'd bet I can drive right off the end of them. You can cheat so many ways beat a ramp score. different pressure in different tires, unhooking a shock, etc.....

I'd think that I have pretty decent flex. I can't find my best flex pics right now on my pc, but here is one and I haven't done anything to clearance in any of the wheel wells. It actually flexes out better today than it did below, but we don't shoot a ton of pics while we are running.

Well I wouldn't say it's ALL about down travel. If one side goes down the other side goes up with a solid axle vehicle. You still have to have room in the fender wells for some up travel or you'll have to limit it in some way which would in turn limit some of your down travel.
