Didn't serve, but grew up a military brat. Thanks dad!

To everyone here, and not pictured here, utmost respect and thank you all! Grew up around military all my life, still honk and wave at the military guys as they drive by or filling up at a gas station or whatever. In restaurants even pulled waitresses aside and told them to give me their ticket when they are done.

Ya'll should be heroes, not scrambling dog beaters...

Great Pics guys and thanks for your service!

Here's one of my Dad's ship off Okinawa in 1945 with the Bunker Hill after a Jap Kamakazee attack (400 killed). My Dad just went on the Honor Flight to DC last month to the WWII memorial and had a great time. He's 86 and still very active.

^^ Nice!

My Grandfather served in WWII. Took the Queen Mary II over to England and has ribbons for Normandy. My mother says this is a shot of his aircraft:

Cool Pic! The plant I work at built the engines for the Liberator bombers during the war. It was owened by Buick Motor Division at that time. One of the departments still has the old engine testing area where they ran them for development testing. You can still see where they ran them so hard the props flew apart and hit the walls.

Anyone who went up in those bombers back then have my respect for sure. Hats off to your grandfather.

Great shot! I had my Shellback inititiation back in 1990 when we were operating off the coast of Liberia in Africa during their revolution just before Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. Never got so gunked up with s#$t as on the deck during Shellback. Nasty little pool, too. Overall, though, what a day!

You have a great legacy of service to the country. It's inspiring to see a family where there is so much commitment to the nation. Thanks!

Thank you - and thanks to those "kids" currently serving under fire.

I won't get political, other than to say, I'll be glad when they're all home and can grow old.

Great pics here. I always love looking at everyone's mil pics. It seems that no matter what branch you served, everyone has some similar experiences.
