I'm Game

My soon to be wife and I. 12/22/11! This was taken while we were breaking in Pascal, our new 2012 Rubi.

A picture I did not know she took while driving home.

Pascal at the wildlife park on the way home from picking her up.

Picture of who Pascal was named after. That and the fact that Pascal was the first programming language I learned.

This is my Zombie Killing tool before the 12 round drum. I mentioned it in the Zombie killing post so I figured I would post a picture here.

My Fiance` and I at a Mardi Gras Ball this year.

This is one of our Engagement Photos.

Protecting the future of Jeeps one child at a time! Also the two most important people in my life.

He was making sure that it has the "new" engine in it as that is the reason Daddy did not buy a 2011 wrangler lol. Have to love kids.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Just figuring out how to upload photos. Never done it this way before; always used an FTP system.

Anyway, this is me at work, shot by an intern...

Tracking some baboons to find their water source. That particular unit had "domesticated" and adopted a cat. They were taking it with them into the wadi to drink at a suspected spring. One female baboon seemed to be the most direct caretaker of the cat. This may be the subject of our research paper, if the cat survives long enough!

This day we watched a male baboon carry the body of his dead son with clear sadness. He put it down for a few minutes and just stared, like he was getting used to the idea. These baboons can carry dead young for up to a week in apparent mourning.

I was still learning how to hold a baby at this time. This is me and my own son Taqi-Ullah at al-Azhar, the world's second university. It was founded by a former slave and is the origin or Europe and America's "cap and gown" dress for graduation, derived from the robes and "tarboush" of al-Azhar skaykhs. This is in the mosque section.

Hopefully after the Hajj season we'll have photos with the Jeep. The popularity of the Jeep is growing fast in the Middle East.

I agree with the comments about your taste. You didn't try to make it look too "macho", it still looks timeless.

I appreciate it. I didn't want to go overboard because I go offroad but nothing extreme. I was trying to still keep it managable on the road. I'm very happy with it. Thanks for comments.

He was a Great Dane and lived to be 12 1/2 years old which is very old for that breed. He was just a freaky big dog and that pic is a few years old as he was put down several years past. He was a little larger than normal when young however after the age of maybe 3 he just began growing more.

The day he died he was 252 lbs and still carried his weight pretty well. I know his neck was 28 inches and he was well over 6 foot when standing on his back feet. Great dog and I miss him however not sure if I will ever have another Dane. Due to their size they are hard to care for in older age and it is hit and miss with them. Usually you get about 7 good years with a Dane.

We have several Jeep dealerships. In the past the parts were too expensive and no one liked Jeeps as a result. The good news is that they are growing in popularity and thus part prices have decreased and availability has increased. The Jeep is very well suited for the Saudi environment because of the large amount of desert, the flash floods, and the poor roads (in Jeddah, some cities have excellent roads.)

This is not common because in many Middle Eastern countries there are very high tariffs on imported cars, sometimes 100%, so you will never see Jeeps and maybe will see extremely old cars outnumbering new cars. This is despite the fact that most of these nations don't offer a locally produced alternative! There's no point, someone is lining their pockets with cash as their fellow citizens suffer.

Saudi Arabia is not one of these countries, thank God, and has only a 5% tax on imported cars.

Also, Egypt now produces Wranglers (JKU and J8) under license as part of some military deal with the US, so they are starting to boom there as well as they aren't considered imports.

Oddest of all, maybe, is that Iran has produced Wranglers on and off for years (designated the "Sahra"), but I don't know if they have a proper license or not. See the link:

PEYKAN

Lastly, Libya had many J8s which the NTC armed and used in an anti-armor and artillery role. So Wranglers were in front-line combat very recently, maybe battling tanks.
