Sams Surplus - Stanton, TX

On my way out to a local offroad park I stopped at a neat place. Thought I'd take some pics to share.

This is a military surplus store, they also have these vehicles on display.

Pretty cool. Wish that vehicle yard wasn't just a museum.

Yeah its kinda sad to see them sitting there. There's one jeep that is suspended ~150ft via a crane. Its been up there since I was a kid.

Looks like a cool place to visit. I'm a sucker for military surplus stores. They're like black holes that suck me into them. I rarely make it out without something stupid.
They're great places for camping equipment if you're ok with primitive camping.

Those are just for show.

They have some custom built 4x4 vehicles for sale, but they are not jeeps.

Cavediver, I completely agree. they have some great stuff. for some reason we walked out with a Machete. I really have no idea why....

I almost bought an Axe to go with it. But my better judgement took over on that.

I was hoping for some sort of recovery strap, but no go. I have a great cold weather sleeping bag from a surplus store.

I told the wife I almost bought her some military grade knee pads. She didn't think that was near as funny as I did.
