Ha, ha! Aren't you funny!

Ok, it *was* a little funny. I laughed. I like to think I fancied it up without reducing its abilities (except for the tow hooks which I intend to replace).

Seriously, members are pretty clear on thinking of appearance as worthless. If you can still do it, then why not look good? Not that the stock jeep didn't look really, really good. I wasn't going to do the chrome until I kept seeing stock, black jeeps one after another. I hate being just like everyone else.

I can laugh at myself - and I did laugh when I read your post - but I guess I'm feeling a little insecure over the changes. Guess I better take it offroad and get some pics with mud on it.

ill be honest. a bit too much chrome for my taste. please dont get chrome wheels though that would be overkill. A nice set of black rims would go good I think.

Don't listen to anybody but yourself

Its your jeep and it's BLACK

I don't mind chrome/black, think it looks great. If anything (cover ears) I really don't care for tube bumpers.
Everybody has different opinions. A lot of folks (gonna get shot for this) like that black/black/black thing. I don't care for it.
The wheels I want only come in black looks like I have to learn to like it lol

Enjoy the new jeep

Fair enough, Pomz623. I can deal with taste differences. Guess I'll rethink those chrome nerf bars, though. And I saw your positive comment on black/chrome a few pages back after posting my reply, kjeeper10.

Actually, I wish I had read through more of this thread before pulling the trigger on all the chrome. There's a lot of stock black jeeps and everyone posts picture of them. And they're all the same. And every one posts a picture. And it's great.

I'm finished with the exterior and I like seeing it when I'm walking across a parking lot toward it. I was thinking of a wood dash but now I'm not thinking of a wood dash. Thinking of chrome bezels for the A/C vents to draw the polish inside. And the funny thing is, I really *like* the stock interior and exterior.

You know, funny thing about the tube bumpers. They're the first thing that went on, and all the other stuff was on order, and when they first went on I said, "Ohhh, $***." I wasn't sure AT ALL about it. It opened up the view into the works and the jeep didn't have that "complete", "continuous", "all together" look that the stock bumpers did, since they moved smoothly into the fender flares. I really like that. Still, stand alone, I like the chrome tube bumpers and once I got the other chrome on it I felt better. And I spent a lot of money on it and I'm not ABOUT to take it off but I'm keeping all the original parts and I can swap it back in short order for a change when I feel like it.

All the same is right. You see what I mean lol

You want "unique"?

This Russian guy I bought parts from had his jeep looking like it came out of the Quartatec magazine. But I give him respect for making it "his own"
Check this baby out

Wait ...... Can I get banned for posting a Cosmo blue wrangler on here?

More on the previous about all the black jeeps. I actually like being part of a community (and would have kept a stock jeep) but hate being part of a bunch of identical individuals (and therefore have to modify my jeep). That's really true. Go figure.

I'm like a couple of others here. There are some on this and other Jeep forums that think a Jeep doesn't look good unless it's got flat plain looking black rims, blacked out headlight bezels (or whatever they are called), black everything else, but I like the way I have mine fixed up and I can almost guarantee you that it gets more looks on the street and more complements from strangers than anyone would get if their flat black Jeep was parked next to mine. Lot's of guys like the old saying "Chrome don't get you home", well, "flat black don't get you back" either. I have the black rock crawler bumpers on mine but I have the chrome side steps and the chrome wheels on it and I think it's just enough to set off the black paint.

You are putting out the money on it so build it just the way you like it.

My 2012 Rubi.
I prefer the look of the stock tires, but nothing beats a dedicated snow tire when the pavement get sketchy. The stock wheels will be blacked by the time I re-install them.
ACE rails will be added in the next few weeks
I plan in ordering RR alum bumpers and RR 8500k winch in the spring. Then I'm done....

(hopefully the pics are attached, I'm replying on my phone)

I'm not a fan of the tube bumpers at all, they do take away departure clearance and tow hooks. I don't mind a chrome grille with black though, kinda looks classy.

Here's my black beauty.

Something seems wrong with this setup. You said this is a 2012 but it looks like a 2011 Black Ops. The 2012 are Modern Warfare 3 edition not Black Ops and also should have painted fenders. Also you’re missing the Black Ops wheels. Yours are standard “X” model wheels. Also looking at it the decals on the side are to low. The should be even with the upper door hinge. Hope you didn’t get swindled by a dealer. Do you have the rest of the Rubicon parts( 4:10, Disconects, red shocks, ect)?
