Why are you trading it in? It looks like it is in great shape. Did you have any problems with it? My 2011 I had for two weeks when I look under it for skid pllates I noticed rust alrrady. Took it to dealer and they are saying it is normal surface rust. I have had the jeep 2 weeks and it hasn't even seen dirt yet. I hate to see how it handles the salt this winter.

The only problem with a black jeep, is everyone pulls out in front of you. I just had a very brave yaris driver try to become a bumper ornament.

At first I thought that was a roll of toilet paper on your dash in case you had an unexpected "pucker factor" failure.

Learned this the hard way a few weeks ago. Lady tried to cut across traffic in front of me in an Infinity Q45, and my Jeep said NO

Hey Shell, so your black Jeep doesn't show all the "swirl" marks and surface scratches that you typically see with most black vehicles? Even the black cars that I've owned in the past end up looking like crap after a couple months and obviously they were never even exposed to the dirt, mud, grit, tree branches, etc that trail vehicles are exposed to on a regular basis.

By the way, I take very good care of all my vehicles both mechanically and cosmetically. I've also tried just about every clear coat/sealer/polish/wax product on the market and I just haven't been able to find anything that produces good results for black vehicles. Are you treating you Jeep with anything in particular to keep the paint looking good? Thanks!

Mine was just detailed. Had a ton of swirl marks. $40 at a local car wash and they did a hell of a wax job on her. Almost perfect, they used a liquid wax and a hand buffer. I think the buffer did the trick as far as getting rid of the swirl marks.

I know you really can't tell by the pics but

If I offended you, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insinuate that you don't take care of your vehicles. I think what helps is that the girl that had my Jeep before me evidently took very good care of her and hardly drove her. We'll see how she holds up with me driving her. I wash her once every month or two at the pay & spray. I started using Turtle Wax Black Box. It's specifically for black vehicles. It's a multiple step process, but that's ok with me. I call it my "me" time. I do all applications by hand. Takes a while. I've had no swirl marks yet. Thinking of buying a buffer to speed up the process and see if it leaves swirl marks.

For all the plastic parts, I use 303. Love that stuff. Use it on the soft top as well. When I do, it looks brand new.

303, What is it?

Same here, like Shell. The PO of my 07 must of took really good care of it. The only blemishes are on the hinges, little bubbled and looks like they were touched up. I never saw a used black vehicles paint as nice as mine... Ever
